Dumb noob question

Ok, I've been playing Madden/NCAA since 04 and I've always wondered but never asked anyone about this.

When you pick say, a WR option play, what determines what route they run? Is it based off of where you roll out to, or whether the coverage is man or zone?

The route that is run by the wide receiver depends on the covergae being played by the defense. The wide receiver chosing the right route depends on how high the awareness of the wide receiver is. Hope this helps.

I actually only have Madden for PS2 and I have an old fatty so I don't have a **** adapter. I do play NCAA though on 360.
