| 80 yards a game in a game where you run about 22 plays a game is good. | |

| You use the West Coast Playbook? Run out of the Near and Far formations. My scheme is ran almost SOLELY out of the Far Formation, and most of it is in the Far Tight Twins formation. The quick pitch play there is MONEY against zone defense, and if your opponent overloads the outside, formation audible to a different run, which is a counter run to the inside/other side of the field. You can set up your audilbes like this. Y: Quick Toss A: Slot Corner X: FB Dive LB: Flats RB: HB Counter All of these out of the Far Tight Twins formation. Here are your pre-snap reads. If your opponent does not overload the outside, do the quick toss and shift your line to block that direction. If your opponent overloads that side, audible to HB Counter. If your opponent is in man coverage, audible to Flats and wait for your B receiver to get open. This route always beats man, so just be patient. There will be a linebacker in the way of the route UNTIL your tight end makes his break, which will bring the linebacker with him. Bullet pass in front of the B receiver for a nice 10+ yard gain. If your opponent overloads the side of the quick pitch and he is in zone, audible to Slot Corner and smart route your B receiver. Now, watch the DBs and LBs on that side of the field. B will be going on a short slant to the outside, and your RB will be running to the flats. If the defender covers your B receiver, pass it to the RB. If the defender goes after the RB, hit your B receiver on a bullet pass toward the sideline. If your opponent is in Cover 2, that setup will work, but if it doesn't you can instead hot route your B receiver to an inside slant, which will leave your X receiver running the drag route open for a short gain. | |

how so? If the team is in zone, motion the far left reciever next to the left tight end and hike.

| try running out of odd formations, such ass shotgun. don't always run out of 2 back sets. play action will also help open up your running game. the number one thing about getting better with running is play calling. if you are predictable then you wont be able to run well at all. i have been having really good success using draws out of shotgun or really any type of run play out of shotty. has anyone else done well running out of shotgun this year? i used to hate running out of it, but now i really like it. | |

| i used to hate running out of the shotgun, too. now, i set up in the shotgun and see if my opponent is in zone defense. if they are, audible to a running play. usually an easy gain of at least 5-6 yards. | |

Because i usually stay in the single back and put a good WR (Andre Johnson in motion) then run to the opposite side and usually break one for 10 yards, thats decoying Or if your on the goal line and send a WR or TE in motion and run right behind him and the FB

| raptors505, i use the atlanta playbook. it doesn't have a lot of runs out of shotgun, but i like them. i set them up with some pass plays, then the draws are wide open. i like the HB Draw out of the formation with 2 WRs on each side, close to the LOS (can't remember the name, but it's not snugs). i run falcons cross, then the draw. pretty good combo. and out of the doubles formation, i run ATL Spot, then 45 Quick or w/e it's called (the quick handoff to the HB with a pulling Guard). i get along pretty well with those. | |
