| Just before the hole? In the hole? After the hole? The running game is my weakest part of my offense. I can break on with White and Johnson on occasion. However, I don't really know if it's moreso smart defensive plays or how I run. Power O- I typically wait until just before I hit the hole Sweeps-As soon as the RB gets the ball Sprints-same All other plays-when the blocks are made. Strangely, sometimes they'll block for not even a second, and then let him go. What's up with that? | |

| You wanna hit the hole as soon as your blockers create an opening using turbo about a second after getting the ball | |

| it depends what play you are picking and what kind of back you have.
If you have a fast back and are running inside, you don't want to outrun your blockers. So just start running behind your blocks and then when you see a hole or good block hit the turbo.
If you are running to the outside on a pitch or toss you will want to hit turbo as soon as you get the ball.

| i do the opposite of what u do.on power o runs i sprint immediatly through the hole.on sweeps i let my blockers set up then sprint outside or cut back n sprint inside depending on whats open.if u sprint right away on a sweep u always outrun ur blockers. | |

| I've noticed on some runs to the outside, if you head to the middle of the field, and then sprint to the outside, the D will react and go inside, while your speed back breaks off to the outside. This allows for a little seperation between your runner and the DE or OLB that breaks off his block as soon as you get close to him. Anyway, for stretch plays, read the D before your RB gets the ball. If the D overpursues to the outside, hold the LS towards the middle of the field. This will make your runner cut INSTANTLY to the middle of the field when he receives the hand off. If the D does not overpursue the outside, run towards the B gap (in between the guard and tackle) and then, if there isn't a whole there, break it to the outside/middle (whichever is open). If there is a whole there, sprint through it. | |

| turbo is just the R2 on xbox, same with ps3.
this year they've actually made a significant difference for the blockers when you sprint or not sprint. u can see the difference easiest to tosses to the outside. if you dont hit sprint the blockers will continue pushing upfield in the general direction of the run until they run into a defender. as soon as you hit sprint they will go and engage the closest defender to them. this is both good and bad. if your going to the outside and there are defenders to the outside, if you hit sprint the blockers will most likely turn inside to engage a defender that is closer to them rather than the outside defenders letting them come free. in this scenario your going to want to hold off on turbo. now if there are no defenders outside and your running to the outside then your going to want to hit turbo as soon as you can so that they engage the defenders on the inside allowing you to turn the corner.
ive also noticed that while your not holding turbo the blockers tend to need to literally run into the defender in their path in order to engage but they will hold their blocks longer. when you sprint they will actively find the closest person to engage them. also keep in mind that each blocker acts like this individually. that means 2 blockers might aim at 1 defender to engage him since he is the closest to both. the one that gets there first will engage him and the other one will change his target to the next person.
in short you have to make a read everytime.
