| No matter what i do i just keep losing. I just versed some kid he was 2-17 i think and i was up i had the advantage. till he started nano blitzing me... he had to have been theres no way he was making it to my qb in shotgun within 2 seconds of him saying "HIKE!" so i mean ugh it's really annoying.. Anyway my record is 15-24 i got LOSE STREAK of 6... i try running it till 3rd down then play action and after a couple of those i throw a screen. Then if it's 4th down punt it. I need to know if this is a good strategy or not. | |

| If your nervous about throwing the football then go to practice mode with your favorite playbook and pick random for the defense, it will really help. | |

| remember: it's great to run it, but if your opponent is guessing run all the time, get into a running formation and pass. i'm an advocate for running first, but i've had times when i just couldn't get it working. sometimes, the running game won't work, and there's no real thing you can do about it. pass in running situations to get the defense thinkning, then hit them with a run. it's all about switching up the play-calling to fool the defense. | |

| naw, i think you need to mix it up more. if a guy knows you want to run it on 1st and 2nd down every time, eventually you're gonna stop getting yards. what team do you run with? and what playbooks do you use? if you can run it effectively and make a guy think you want to run it on first down, theres some plays you can use to kill man coverage and/or blitzes, or whatever he's gonna use to try to stop your run.
you want to get a feel for what your opponent is doing, and use it against him. you want to make him think you're gonna run, and then you pass. and it doesn't have to be playaction, cuz if you use PA too much eventually your opponent is gonna read it and then you'll most likely get sacked.

| Some of the PA plays do have good routes. You can also hot route the RB who was going to get the "fake" handoff which will remove the play action. That can expand your playbook if play action is getting you sacked. Also, try to use 3+ plays per formation. When you only use I-form, shotgun, or any other formation, for one certain play, your opponent will eventually catch on. If you use the same formation to pass, run and use play action, it will help to keep him guessing. | |

Also within each passing play is about a million other passing plays. pick the play quick so u can get to the line faster, then look at how his D is setup. Find a weakness and hot route hot route hot route. But the best thing you can do is go find a playbook that you like and practice practice and practice some more. Practice on All-Madden level and keep running the same play until you can master it, then move onto the next.

Word, I do that a lot. It especially works if you come out in like I-Form Tight and then atteck deep.

| it really matters what kind of team you use and also in my opionion a good defense is the key so try to find a good coverage play and a good blitz play that you can interchange and that fits with your D | |

| as a reply to the person who asked what team and pb i use. I use Chargers 95% of the time. Unless I'm versing my friend and we pick teams we never used, but anyway i last used NE playbook cause i heard there's was good. Couple times i used Pass Balanced, Twice Run heavy, just kept experimenting. What is a pretty good playbook for SD would it be SD PB or some other teams? Also i have a slight habit (not much anymore, but a little...) of hot routing my hb or fb and making them go out right or left and just throwing to them, then once my opponent picks up on it, i get man coverage and it stops working as much so now I've been trying to check for man coverage by putting a man on my line in motion. | |

| I know what you mean about losing! I was 4-26 until this weekend (I use the Bengals almost all the time online, but that's my own fault) I finally found some passing plays that worked well against the blitz and a few that worked well against zone, and started to recognize which defenses shut down specific plays. In my games this weekend I went 8-2 (one was a dc loss I took thanks to my shoddy modem that died while I was tied and driving with the ball) and still using the Bengals. I have difficulty against players who mix it up, and frequently I'll make mistakes that cost me points, so I'm no allstar, but I'm definitely making progress. Now sitting at 12-28 which feels a hell of a lot better, and have shut out players using the steelers, eagles and colts. Again, I'm no allstar, but I'm finding a large number of people online have one game plan. If you can shut that down then most of them crumble. The strategy guide is amazing but you need to put in the time to do some reading. My game is consistantly a work in progress | |

| you know something i find interesting, wcfurious is right. most people have one major gameplan, whether it be outside runs, screen passes, etc. i find that having a backup gameplan is a good strategy, or no gameplan at all, originally. i personally have no clue what i'll do once i start a game, but once i get a feel for the defense, i can get comfortable with a gameplan. | |
