I need help with the Raiders, what are some good plays to use?

I love playing with the raiders, madden 10 is pretty good, it has its problems but overall I enjoy playing, my problem is that some of the plays in the playbook just don't work, I try shotgun, a little success, russell is awful this year, mcfadden is a little slow, any help would be appreciated.

Haha, I feel you all the way on this. I love Madden 2010, it's the best football game since NFL2K5. I'm a huge Raiders fan so I understand your frustration. I lost my first 7 out of 8 games online because I'm loyal to my Raiders. Here's the thing, Russell is awful. McFadden could be a little faster and his acceleration could be a little quicker, but overall I think he is the key to winning with the Raiders. I use the West Coast offense when I play. Russell has a cannon (98 Throwing Power) but its really useless because his deep accuracy is horrid (62) and his medium is still below average. Use the West Coast's short crossing and out patterns to your advantage. Swing McFadden out in the flats or use him where he runs an angle route back across the middle. Plus work in some pitches and tosses, McFadden is money if he can get the corner. Obviously you're going to have to pound it up the middle to keep the defense honest, and occasionally he'll break one. Try this out come out in Shotgun with McFadden still in the backfield, call a passing play with some short five yard outs or slants. From here read the defense. Should you pass or is he giving you some room up the middle? If it's pass, then obviously run the play, but if you've got room audible and right stick down to select run from the same formation. Keep doing this, it allows you to not have to feel so worried about Russell making a bad throw and you're almost guaranteed positive yardage even if it is only 2 yards, positive is always better. By doing this it forces your opponent to stay honest because he doesn't know if you're passing or running. The Right stick down audible is a very effective draw play. If anyone else has any other words of wisdom, PLEASE pass them along, I would love to step up my game even more.

use garcia he throws dots on the run

utilize Murphy and HeyWard bey they are much better than there ratings.

I run 30% of the time and pass 70%..
and I use Raiders even tho its says im reppin NE, im from Boston but the Raiders are too damn good in Madden.

I am just starting with the west coast style, it seems to be wroking, I won my first game I beat the bengals 17-7, on all-pro, I had a few problems like you said with russell, but going across the midle is money. thx

I always play the Raiders never been anyone else (sad huh) this is what i do and have been successful online 12-4 so far , first thing... you have to be patient with Jruss ,because you know as well as I do nobody wants to play with Garcia (although you can use him in special packages on roll out 3wr sets) pound the ball with Mcfadden get Neal the hell out of the fb position and put in Bush. find a formation you like (for me its the Near and the Washington playbook)I use the near because of the extra back gives me more added protection and two backs to throw to, thowing to my backs is part of my running attack short and safe moving the chains and using the clock I use the toss play to get Mcfadden to the edge I like to work the same formation and sheem , passing to the backs in the flats against man the hitting my tight end post. Pitch outside to Mcfadden or stretch play (with line shift right)then Bush up the middle..... Busting the zone I like DHB around left middle hash marks (you find a play) he has good seperation that gives Jruss room for error . down and in routes for Chaz Shilens slants for walker.. control the ball because if you have to play from behind early your done. Remember patients wins with the Raiders ,you can`t put your opponents in the position to run the ball on you , if your winning they must pass on you and then your where you want to be (best corners in the game)they will get you the ball back , patients with Jruss he is hard to get the timing and touch down with because of his gun put when you do its " FUN AND GUN BABY " hope this helps as a base

use 46 D and run the SS blitz from the right. its a sack nearly everytime.
