The only opponents I've lost to recently have been ones that run Quarter and some form of zone (not sure the exact play or anything, although I do believe it was some semblance of a Cover 2). My wideouts just manage to get practically no separation on these plays, and then while I'm waiting for the routes to develop and for someone to get open, one of the three down lineman are in my face. I've tried: crossing routes (take too long to develop, and often aren't even open because of the zone D), out routes (covered by DB's in flats), slants (covered by zones yet again), and of course the deep ball which as we all know barely works anymore in '10. Even the HB curl wasn't open because there'd be a LB right there on him. Corner routes really seem to be the only partially effective route to run, but even then that may work 1/3 times for me.
I've been running with the Run n Gun playbook, and against any defense other than this I'm able to put up solid points and move the ball, but this zone defense s*** just shuts it down every time I've played against it (probably only get 7 points a game against it). Do any of you guys have some serious zone busters or zone busting schemes that would help me out? I'm just getting real tired of getting shut down by a seemingly simple defense. I'll trade if thats what you're looking for, but please help me out here!
