I'm finally in college

Today I found out I got accepted, and I start college on monday.....I'm getting my culinary arts degree.....I'm going to ECC, I wish I could of got into U of L and do sports administration, but I had to wait until spring semester to go to U of L.....So I settled with ECC and culinary arts cause I can cook real good...They don't have sports administration at ECC....But oh well.....

thats what im trying to get in to yo!!! i did the University thing for a while before i realized the majors i was studying for weren't going to give me a job i was happy with. so i dropped out, started working as a manager, trying to save up money to get to Johnson & Wales, cuz we have one here in charlotte.

but s*** yeah man, i love cooking. i get down on something cool like every other day. i can't wait to finally start learning some things and take my cookin to the next level. the restaurant business isn't my scene though, i've worked in a few and although i absolutely loved it, i know the hours aren't what i want for the rest of my life. CATERING is where im looking at right now, hopefully i can get in to school maybe next spring, find a caterer to work with, and after maybe just 5 years (that would be nice) i could start my own company.

Hey my dad went to johnson and Wales and now hes working at a huge banquet hall. He also does some catering outside of work that I help him out with. From watching my dad I know that being a chef is a stressful job and the hours suck. But it is probably the most fun job out there. And chicks dig you if you can cook.

congrats man im going to a vocational school taking up culinary arts and im a senior so i got one more year and thats what i want to do when i graduate

let me tell u somethin bout culinary arts bro...i kno dis white chick went to the cordon blu school in phx. she graduated in about a yea or so and went to work for a resort making 15 bucks an hr to bake cakes caus she is a baking specialist...there is money in being a cook.

Thanks to all you guys that responded and showed me some love. I'm going to bust my ass and take it to the next level...Right now, I'm big on italian and chinese, and I can make it real good, almost like the big dogs....I can even do the traditional stuff good, you know ribs, burgers, and some good homecooking....I did get my notice late. I'm still trying to figure out why it took long..I applied for ECC back at the end of June......I didn't even find out until yesterday that I was accepted. They said they sent the letter to me, but I never seen it...But oh well, its cool though. ECC is Elizabethtown Community College. Its here in E-town Kentucky...I'm originally from Ky.....I was in New Jersey cause I had a bad fallout with my pops...I was up there for 2 months applying for jobs and colleges.....I drove back down to Ky the day before yesterday......I could of got Rutgers while I was in Jersey, but they wanted me to redo my ACT since its been years since I did it....If I can get my masters that will be great...For now, I'm going to do two years down here, and try to transfer to The Culinary Institute of America to finish my degree.....The Culinary Institute is bad ass, and alot of good chefs you see on t.v. came from this school......I'm trying to get on these guys level, and I'm doing it!!!!!!!!!
