| I have stated a few times on this board how I have been mediocre at running the ball on this difficulty level. Running the ball is my absolute fav part of any madden game and I really want to improve this area of my game. Here is usually what I do... When I run inside: I will generally pinch the Oline and put the TE in motion so that he blocks right where my running lane is. This works sometimes, but it isn't a consistent 3-5 yards that I am looking for. With my running back I usually will try to truck stick and stiff arm if I get past the dline. When I run outside: This is a weakness. I feel like I am doing everything right, but it just isn't working. I will run alot of stretch play and will have 1-2 TE's on the side I run the ball. This generally doesn't work and I will gain 1-2 yards at best most of the time. Occasionally I will get a decent 10 yard gain, but this may happen 1-2 a game. Anyway, I really need some advice and pointers for this. If any of you can help me I would truly appreciate it. Thanks guys. | |

i do alot of outside tosses and everything I guess the idea of not holding the sprint the entire time is to set up blockers? I had never thought of that. Makes sense. I will try it out. Thanks. More Advice Please! | |

| Well I tried out your suggestion and I have great and bad results. I tried the suggestion you made with several stretch plays, but this strategy did NOT work. I was losing HUGE chunks of yardage and I thought maybe you were pulling my leg. Then I tried a traditional pitch toss running play to the right and my god did that work! I did exactly as you said and BAM! The blockers were exactly where they should be and I ran for a 79 yard TD against ALL Madden! Never had a run longer than 20 yards let alone 79! Great advice. I truly appreciate it. I know this won't happen everytime I run a toss or sweep play, but man...if I can pick up just some consistent yardage I will be a happy dude. Thanks bro. PS: I think it didn't work on Stretch plays simply because the runner should be in fact sprinting from the get go. It is different from a toss becasue the blockers aren't pulling as they do in a toss play. | |

| On all madden the defense picks up on the slide protect if you always do it to the same side on the same play. It is a good idea to some times slide protect to the loaded side of the defense when running, even if its not to the side you are running. It throw the awarness of the defense of balance. You may get caught back there a couple time but if you run the ball enough the right way you will eventually pop one even on great defensive teams. | |

| Patience is what i gotta say man especially if your playin with the cards because Pitts D is so fast & troy reads about every play. Im a big fan of starting with some inside zone runs because alot of people on madden use zone. make sure to zone block the area in which your gonna run bringin over a tight end might help but more times than one whenever i shift one the linebacker always chases me down from behind. Use trubo only in the hole or in open space! | |

| My advice would be to not give up on the run. Even if your not gaining as many yards as you would like after a while your gonna be able to set up PA and exploit the defense for big yards. No better feeling than getting the tight end down the middle on a play action | |
