Cover 3 more effective in Madden 10 than 09?

Way back in Madden 08, I loved to use Cover 3s all the time. But then when I bought Madden 09, I found the Cover 3 to be extremely ineffective and leaves the deep ball wide open. Now with our normal beloved passing game back, do you see the return of the Cover 3 in Madden 10?

dude. I have no idea how Cover 3 can get any better without it becoming cheese.

cover3 is gonna b less effective(maybe more on the deep ball), what is gonna work better is man coverage, that was a joke in 09

Yeah but this year if people use Cover 3 all the time i just CYS and make routes designed to mess up Cover 3, and with bullets this will be pretty easy to do IMO

I use 2 man under rather then cover 3 lol cover 3 allways gets me screwed over.

I don't know, Cover 3 worked pretty well for me in the right situations. I found that Cover 2 was the one that sucked pretty bad in this Madden, although I'm not much of a zone guy.

cover 3 is not gon be the defense in madden this year, 2 man under is going to be beastly this year cause of the slower gameplay

You know that's something I didn't think about. I bet Cover 2 will be a lot better because of this, but any teams that still have speed at WR will exploit this even more because of the slowed down corners/safeties.

I used Cover 2 alot in Madden 10 but I still think some CBs are fast enough to catch up with WRs

It's not the CB's you have to worry about catching up with the WR's in a Cover 2, it's the safeties. The corners are playing a short zone near the LOS on the outside and the safeties cover deep.

Cover 3 was easy to exploit with bullets, but didn't cover anyone in 09... so who knows how good it will be in 10...

Well, what's the verdict so far? I haven't played online much yet and I was wondering if Cover 3 was working better this year. Offline I haven't seen much of a change in it's efficiency.

in 09 i would say that the most effective defenses were.....2 Man Under, Engage 8, cover 3 and then 2. In that order. Those were the only plays u needed. basicly the only ones i ever used. Cover 4 and random CB blitzes also proved useless down the stretch, and billsrule taught me a thing or two about LB contain.
