MLB trade deadline...

In my eyes, the big trades to watch out for are either Adrian Gonzales to the Red Sox or Victor Martinez to the Red Sox...

On a personal note, I'm going to hope the Angels snag the Padre's Heath Bell to help our sometimes shaky bullpen...

Yea I got trades mixed up cuz my phone is a lot slower then a computer and my gf is talkin to me we're driving to napa valley right now... Sherrill to dodgers from baltimore and gorzellany and grabow to cubs from pittsburgh...

Jarrod washburn jus got traded to the tigers for two prospects..

Orlando cabrera got traded to minnesota for a prospect.

this is a pretty good trade but i dont see it helpin them get to the playoffs i dont think they'll get past the white sox

I think it helps them into the playoffs! Pitching wins championships and they now have a sick top 3 of the rotation! Verlander, jackson and washburn can do it.. Washburnin the last 6 starts he's made has an era below 1.00...that's pretty good last time I checked. Haha

In fact I think detroit is in first place already.

I agree with Bostn...Washburn has the third best ERA in the AL and will be an extremely strong addition to the Tigers...It very well could be enough to help them pull away in the AL Central...

Btw, the Tigers are two games ahead of the Twins and 2.5 ahead of the White Sox...

they're rotation is pretty stacked now wit washburn yeah but its their offense. they got some good ass players wit granderson cabrera etc. but it seems like their lineup is rarely all on at the same time. if the front of the lineup is tearin it up the bottom of the lineup cant get on base.i just dont see them beatin out the white sox the way their playin righ now. and minnesota isnt out of it either but they dont got enough pitching to make the playoffs

When ur lineup is as good as detroits is it is a good thing to have ur lineup catch fire at diff times cuz then they are consistant! If they score 4-5 runs per game they wil win cuz their pitching staff is nasty! If they all catch fire together and go cold together they become very streaky cuz they will have 2 week periods where they don't score but 1-3 runs.. I like a consistant team. Consistan twins in the playoffs.

well the tigers do got a real nice squad but like i said their stars never show up consistently only over .260 and thats miguel cabrera. the can only go as far as that pitching takes them because that offense is a little inconsistent

Red sox strike again! Adam laroache goin to atlanta for kotchman.... Looks like we have a quick fix to our lineup problems for the next 2 years.

Even thou I would rather have Kotchman, since hes younger LaRoche should bring his bat back to Atlanta.

Laroache is a great 2nd half hitter.. Sox jus don't have anywhere 2 put him after getting victor martinez.

Last minute deal sends peavy to the white sox for 4 prospects... Peavy is on theDL still but should be back sometime this month..

Aaron Poreda was in this deal, who is a great prospect. Peavy hasnt been all great this year and the Padres got rid of his huge contract.

Peavy has always been like he was this year b4 injury.. When he's not on he gives up a lot of runs... When he is on he strikes everyone out.... He can be what gets the white sox in the playoffs if he comesback healthy!

I'll keep rooting for Kotchman to do well, but I sure as hell can't root for the team he plays for now!

Boston, what do you think about losing Masterson? I thought he was pretty promising to be a key part of the franchise in the future...

as a padre fan, ill give you my opinion: that padres, as an organization, are retarded.

1. that fact that they traded peavy as a result of the owners divorce is a joke.

2. They had a much better deal for gonzo from boston. If we were rebuilding, why not take that, the deal the marlins offerered for Bell, and the peavy trade? if they want to rebuild, they would have 9 solid prospects to work with in addition to what came from their own system.

Peavy is as good as he was 2 years ago when he put up triple crown numbers. His problem was that he wasnt wanted in San Diego, and thus wasnt motivated. Expect his ERA to rise because of not having petco behind him, but he is still a stud.

I cant believe i spent the whole day praying to keep Bell and Gonzo, and ended up losing peavy.

Masterson is gona be good no doubt but we have so much pitching that is young that he would be a waste of talent with us. He would be in the bullpen and he should be a starter... To get martinez and not give up buchholz, bowden, or bard was genius.. They all have higher ceilings then masterson... Bard as a closer is gona be straight nasty and bowden and buchholz just have the stuffto be a #1 starter if they put it all together... Masterson will be one that I will cheer for as long as he never goes to NY... Only other time I've said that was with hanley ramirez and he's one of the best players in the game and hopfully masterson will have success to... Sux to see products of ur farm system go but that's what had to happen if we were gona win now.
