215) Dime Normal – Engage Eight – Stopping the Run
a) Show blitz. Crash the Line to the side you believe they are going.
b) Manually Control the FS
Only use this play if you feel they are going with the run, you won’t have much
coverage to protect a pass.
216) Dime Normal – Strike 2 Deep – One Way
a) Show blitz. Spread the defensive line. Crash the defensive line out.
b) Move the LB’S in tight. Blitz the LB’S.
c) Manually cover using the Safety. You will not have much coverage for the pass.
Make sure you know how to cover using the Safety or you could get burned.
217) Dime Normal – Strike 2 Deep – Another Way
a) Flip the play when you are picking the play.
b) Right when the defense comes out of the huddle. Bump and Run. Then
Freeze the defense, The MLB should stay in the middle of the field.
c) Have you LDE, right side of screen, to QB Contain.
d) Manually control the right side DB and use him to play in coverage.
If you notice that the offense has the TE and RB on the left side, you need to flip
the play or if the offense has been guarding heavy on the left, then no need to flip
the play at the call screen. This is a pass defense only.
218) Dime Normal – Strike 2 Deep – Third Way
a) Flip the play. Bump and Run.
b) Place your LDE (right side of TV Screen) in a QB Spy
c) Place the Right Blitzing Inside Corner (Left of TV screen) next to the
RDE (Left of TV Screen)
d) Take the Left Blitzing Corner (Right of TV screen) and drop back into coverage with him.
219) Dime Normal – Zone Blitz
a) Bump and Run
b) Place the LCB in a short zone, right side of screen.
c) Place the MLB in the A Gap, to the QB’S left side.
d) Place the Nickel Back next to the RDE, left side of screen, on the LOS.
e) Manually Control the FS.
This is great to use against the Shotgun
220) Dime Normal – DB Blitz - One Way
a) Bump n Run right when you break the huddle
b) Place the safeties and the MLB to short zones
c) Pass Commit and manually control the MLB and jump any short curls or drag routes.
This is a great defense to use with the 5 WR sets. If the offense is using the WR screen often, then don’t
Bump and Run.
221) Dime Normal – DB Blitz - Another Way
a) Freeze the defense. Bump and Run
b) Have the MLB and have both safeties play short zones (Yellow Zones).
c) You should get pressure from the Slot Blitzers.
This is combo coverage that works great against Shotgun plays along with the rollout from the Shotgun
222) Dime Normal – DB Blitz - Third Way
a) Place the safeties in deep blue zones.
b) Place the Outside CB’S in purple zones.
c) Pinch the defensive line, and then re-blitz the DE’S down.
d) Bump and Run.
e) Manually User Control the MLB.
You should cause heat from the Lt and RT areas and should cause pressure on the QB
223) Dime Normal – SS Zone Blitz
a) Show blitz. Crash the defensive line inward.
b) Place the Dime Back on the right side of the screen right by the LDE (right side of TV Screen).
c) Also move the SS and place him right next to the LDE.
The SS should come in almost untouched.
224) Dime Normal – All Out Blitz
a) Bump and Run. Place the safeties to short zones.
b) Manually use the MLB and have him appear as you plan to use him to rush.
c) Use the MLB to guard the middle and look for routes to jump.
225) Dime Normal – Zone Man X
a) Bump and Run.
b) Coverage Audible then right, to align your men.
c) Pinch the Defensive Line.
d) Man the MLB on the TE or RB.
e) Place the Weak DT in a Hook Zone.
f) Place both DE’S in purple zones.
This defense provides a good mix of man and zone coverage. I would suggest using a
defender to do a fake manually rush or another to cover deep. Notice this play will
look similar to the DB Blitz. This is not a good pressure defense, but if you use it
with the DB blitz, at times your opponent will have extra blockers to help, allowing you
to have extra men in coverage.
226) Dime Flat – Man DB Strike
a) Freeze the defense. Bump and Run.
b) Have the 2 safeties and the MLB play short zones.
c) Manually User Blitz using a slot defender.
This is a great combo defense that tricks the offense if they are trying to see if you
are in Man or Zone and delivers pretty good heat.
