It depends on the number of participants Tuki. If there's 24 people in a tourney, then the guy who wins 1st place gets 400 points, and the guys who got 2nd-4th place get 100 points towards the Madden Federation rankings.
If the payout was 1,000 dollars, then the winner gets an extra 100 points toward the rankings.
I think that's how it goes.

I'm with Tuki. I have absolutely no idea what any of it means.

Go to tournaments. Win them or come close and you get points. These tournaments must be sanctioned by the Madden Federation. The Madden Federation is an organized group of guys who are trying to promote Madden to the masses. At the end of the year the top spots get paid cash for being Players of the Year.
