broncos cheated salary cap during their sb run

this is old news but nobody really kbows about it thought bronco fans should see this.

NEW YORK -- The Denver Broncos have been fined $950,000 and
will lose their third-round pick in next year's NFL draft for
circumventing the salary cap between 1996-98.

The penalties were levied Thursday following an agreement
involving the league, its union and the team.

The violations included agreements between the team and several
players to defer salary payments with interest and an agreement not
to waive a player before a certain date. Both raised issues with
accounting for the salary cap.

In addition to the penalties against the team, the NFL said an
agent for a former player agreed to donate $100,000 to charity.

i understand that they got punished and fined for that but taking a third round pick is stupid, they should take a first round pick because thats better of a punishment.

ok i get what your saying but they still broke the rules and when the patriots got caught cheating they only took a late round draft pick and any other times teams break the rules they dont get punished enough

well they took a late round pick and that was conditional depending on if they made the playoffs or not. and spygate was way worse than this i bet you this type of stuff happens behind closed doors all the time
