How to host a tournment

Okay, so I decided to host a madden tournment at my house with all my friends and teammates since alot a people i know play alot of Madden. Other kids at my school have hosted them before and they have went terribley wrong. So i just wanna know if you guys have anyone guidelines or tips to go by to have a succesful tournment with no bitching or my house being totally destroyed.

- set out the rules that are give everyone a lil of wat they want
- tell them to bring they own food
- rsvp early so u can get the brackets ready and have things move as fast and as smooth as possible
- keep everyone in 1 area or go outside

Dont invite any knuckleheads...It doesn't matter what you do or plan for the night if one idiot decides to show up he is going to F up the night for everyone. At least that has been my experience in the past. When me and my boys did these back in the day we knew who we could invite and have a good time with and who not to invite. As long as you invite the right group of fellas you'll be straight. The most important part is the invititaion list.

and a way to get the quickest games and still have strategy in it is have 4 min qtrs.... with this one of ur rules should be no milk men... u milk the clock with more then 2-3 mins to go in a half and u get DQd...

yea i like the bring ur own food rule! haha thats my food for the week! wtf i look like feedin my food to sum bums that r bout to get ran anyways hahahaha

main rule is dnt invite any sore loosers

yea all i can say is have ur rules set, and brackets made which means have the people that are going to sign up already in mind

agreed tuki if u get all your prelimenary things situated such as brackets and an area to play and rules then u focus on making the environment as hectic as possible...meaning if u have the room i think you should allow your friends to invite other friends as long as they are respectful...sore losers are ok for trash talkin as long as they are respectful of your s***

I'll take this one.

If ur really down to this, tell to bring 5-10 dollars to supply food(the food will already be at your house, but this is back up money)
Tell someone to bring another system, and 2 controllers so the games go by faster.
Tell ppl that they can bet on there own games, as long as the rules stay the same.
Make sure you have every1 signed up BEFORE HAND, and make sure they pay you as they sing up(if they don't come, you get to keep the money, and/or give it out as a prize)
Don't allow anyone who isn't playing madden in.
3 minute quarters, all madden so they go by quicker

BIGGEST RULE: NEVER, EVER, EVER keep the money on you. Always put it in a place where you have a weapon near. This may sound dumb, but when some1 attempts to rob you, you can get the money, but also get whatever the weapon is, and try to stop them from robbing you.

CJ it's his friends, I don't think anyone will rob em, but just in case you're right, he should be ready.

But if possible, try to have the tourney either outside or in a room that doesn't matter much like with not a lot of breakable things... unless you know it won't be too wild.

if you're gonna make food, just do like cheap hot dogs or something that way you don't have to worry about getting what everyone wants...

Have something to do for people who are eliminated or are just there but not playing... like, maybe another tv with madden, a basketball hoop in the driveway will even work well. just keep the people entertained until the final round and then the championship people will probably gather around the big screen and it'll be hype.

IDK if he lives in the hood, but you know how it is in the hood. You could be my best frined, but if you see me pull out 300 dollas, ur gunna come back and rob my ass.
