Midfield 4th down situations

If your within the 45-40 yard line, and it's 4th down, go for it. Even if you don't get it, you might get some yards, making it harder for your opponent to get a TD. Now, if its 4th qt, and your up by 10, have some class and punt the ball, even if its 4th and 1.

if forth and 1 im goin for it regardless

Not punting does not mean you have no class, it means you know that they can make a comeback and you have to try everything for that not to happen.

no, it means you have no class. I don't like to go for it If I'm up, but if you do, then go ahead. It just means ur rubbing it in.

Who doesnt go for 4th downs?

plenty of people do, if im only up by 3 then i might just go for it on 4th an 1 or even 2.

But it also depends on the game, am i consistely beating his run or short pass d, have i been able to stop him on offense. How much time is left, how many t.o.'s does he have. If I feel good with all that in consideration ill make the choice to punt it or go for it.

If im up by at least a TD then i will most likely punt it. Anything over 4th and 4 im 99% of the time punting. It varies tho cuz it just depends on the situation.

IT GOES BOTH WAYS THO, cuz ive made plenty of 4th and 1, 2, 3 stops and gone back down the field for the win or tie.

Punting is classy and it shows u have confidence in your d to make them go the field.
