| Damn it! Like I said, if I was wrong, I would man up, so here I am, Eggz. You were right and I was wrong. Not only is he not going to be a Bronco next season, but it is ultimately his fault becaue McDaniels clearly tried to patch things up near the end. Now, I just hope we get some quality players/picks in return, especially a QB because I certainly don't want Chris Simms running the offense. Oh well, here's the story from Yahoo:
After numerous failed attempts to open a line of communication in recent days, the Denver Broncos have decided to pursue trading disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler.
In a statement to Yahoo! Sports and several other media outlets, Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said that the team came to the decision after both he and head coach Josh McDaniels tried unsuccessfully to reach Cutler.
“Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the last 10 days, both by head coach Josh McDaniels and myself, have been unsuccessful,” Bowlen said. “A conversation with his agent earlier [Tuesday] clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos. We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.”

| well....Cutler felt slighted, and he was offended and felt that he could not personally trust McDaniels. that is what he felt! no one can argue what a man feels. now...i would like to see him go to the Jets or TB. | |

| i dont blame him. honestly how can u trust someone like that. Why stay somewhere where u dont know if the right deal came along that they would just up and trade u. I think its more the Broncs fault than Cutler honestly. I gotta side with the player here. | |

| I initially took Cutler's side...I felt that it was a poor decision for McDaniels to come in and shake things up right away...At the same time, I thought Cutler handled it pretty poorly as well, putting his house up for sale and having his parents do the same thing...Before today's news, I could pretty much understand both sides, seeing that they could both be blamed for the process.... After McDaniels flat out addressed the media and said "Jay Cutler is our quarterback," he showed that he was committed to patching the relationship with Cutler, putting the ball back in the QB's court. Yet, he chose not to answer phone calls from management, from the owners or from the coach, forcing them to go ahead with the trade. And why shouldn't they? Like Mili's post with Deion Sander's opinion on the ordeal, Cutler is still under contract, so even though he felt slighted at first, he should have manned up and LEAD his team like a QB is expected to...In the end, the NFL is a business...Sure, you try and take player's feelings into account when you can, but it's not the first priority... | |

Mili, i am tired of u throwing the Jets name out there! get it out of ur head!! I was wrong on this situation too i thought he would still be a bronco when the season started but its lookin like its not gona happen.. i just listened to John Clayton on SportsCenter and he said he thinks the deal would have to be a 3 way deal involving the Browns and Brady Quinn.. Maybe Quinn is gona be the real deal and he just will make the broncos even younger.. Who knows, but i sure as hell hope the Jets keep their noses out of this!

| I could see the Lions trading their first-round pick and trying to get him. I can also see Tampa Bay trying their hardest to get him.
But the Cleveland trade makes the most since because I think Brady Quinn will eventually be the real deal.
I also took up for Cutler at the beginning. But now as I think about it, he has to realize that this is the NFL. The NFL is a business. And when you're getting checks instead of signing checks your job is NEVER safe.

| i heard that the lions may pass on cutler since they were EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with Stafford's pro day work out at UGA the other day. Sounds like he had a really good workout throwing the ball well. I am praying the Bucs find a way to get this deal done, a three way trade, something. It would really solidify the team. | |

Personally, I would like to see a three-way trade done with the Browns where Brady Quinn comes to the Broncos...I know he hasn't been everything he's been hyped to be since college, but if McDaniel's scheme is anything like Belichick's (which it will be), then the QB just needs to be decent to succeed....I think Quinn could thrive if given the opportunity to start...Hell, if that doesn't work out, we always have Simms sitting the bench lol...

Rob dont forget the fact that Brady Quinn is comin from another Belichick coach in Charlie Weis so i think Quinn would thrive there with McDaniels, itll be a system based on the same stuff Weis ran in college and Brady Quinn was a stud in college. U give him that system that McDaniels is gona run and its gona be pretty similar to Weis's i gota believe and itll fit perfectly!

| Bucs send 4th round pick and next years 1st round pick to the Browns for Quinn, Bucs send Quinn and this yrs 3rd round pick to Broncos for Cutler. Pretty High price to pay but would probably make everyone happy. Browns get extra pick this year and a extra pick next year. I dont think you can ask for a 1st round pick for Quinn even though he was a 1st rounder two years ago, it was later in the first round and he hasn't proved he is the real deal yet even tho he hasnt really had much of a chance to either. Broncos get a QB they like for their system. I dunno. I doubt those picks would work out. But just throws an idea out there. Esentially the bucs would be giving up this years 3rd rd pick, 4th rd pick and next years 1st rd pick for Cutler. Might be a little too high of a price but honestly I think it would be worth it. I like the talent already in place and could probably pick up a pick or two for next years draft later on down the line before the draft next year. | |

| Like I said before... the Panthers could easily get him seeing as the Broncos need someone like Peppers to help Dumervil out. | |

I thought it was a good trade for both sides. Bears got a young pro bowl qb and the Broncos get 2 first round picks and a average qb.

| The trade was HORRIBLE for the Broncos unless you consider the circumstances. I mean at this point they had no choice but to trade him but I believe draft picks are way overvalued in this league. I mean, if you take a really proven player under 27 at nearly any position at need and I would trade a 2nd round pick for them, with a QB they are almost irreplaceable. If they manage to replace Cutler it will be by chance. The Bears may have some growing pains still but they have an excellent franchise QB now. For the time being I think they still have to be a run first team, but they will certainly have the ability to open up the offense more than in previous years. Broncos are in trouble I don't think Orton is the answer. They should interview Garcia in my opinion. | |

yea mcdaniels shotgun short pass system he runs is the same system orton ran at purdue.. orton will do just fine in denver, i think denver got such a steal here with 2 first rounders and a 3rd.

| i think denver is f'd...orten doesnt look natural playing qb...regardless tho, orten fits daniels scheme short shotgun with limited deep ball. i believe that cutler is also screwed on this even tho he tried to pull a G move on the broncos. cutler will have time to throw the ball and he has the ultimate weapon at wr. we will see wat te broncos do in the draft they have 10 picks second most behind the eagles and they also have some cap room to maybe sign or trade for some veteran help. the broncos shouldnt and wont draft a qb in the draft caus that position this year is limited and mcdaniels is a stubborn egomaniac coach already who obviously doesnt kno how to communicate with players. denver is still in the fit for 2 or 3rd in there division and i believe the cheifs are now better than the broncos in there division. so both teams are worse because of this caus denver gave up they qb and chicago dont have a scheme for the gun slingin cutler BUT a better defense and run game so he dont gotta do it all hisself. | |

I'd like to hear more on why you think the Chiefs are a better team....you mentioned it, but didn't give a reason for it other than the cutler trade...
