Actual Level

Actual Level is a term that I use to determine how good a person is. Actual lvl is your level plus the AOL. Adding these together will give you how good your opponent really is. If your opponent has an AOL of below 12, and his lvl is above 30, he won't be that good. If his AOL is below 5, and above lvl 30, don't think he's beter than you, cuz he prolly isn't.

I've actually been trying to work on improving my actual level lately...Last night, I just got to lvl 12 and I've been increasing my aol the best I can...I'm on a five game win streak right now and I know the lowest level out of those 5 folks was a lvl 15, two of them were 30+....

So, when are we gonna get this crew going???

my aol hasnt changed since i was level 8. i'm level 16 now and i routinely play people from level 10-25. i can't get it to change though

My AOL is bad because i play GB and i play alot of 1's

i just go to play now...........i dont worry about it

Gotta love ending Bum hunters winning streaks.. haha nothing like it.. after the game you get a lot of trash talk messages haha.. But yeah CJ is right level alone dosent really tell you anything about the player.

My AOL level isn't that great and i'm a level 30, but I think i'm better then most people still...

i have NEVER been impressed with online levels PERIOD!!! for what? i have BLASTED cats who's levels were a lot higher than mine (i'm a 22)...and....i have gotten SMOKED by cats who were lower levels than me. all of this "AOL" stuff means absolutely nothing in all honesty.......because.......you rarely (if that) will see any of those madden nation cats actually playing online from week to week. they see online play as a joke or a means to lab some new stuff. i just enjoy playing the game irregardless of how many lower or upper level cats i play.....win or lose! 8)

But I actually think the level gives you a pretty good on rating how good someone is. Is it 100% correct. Hell No! But if you played 10 random games against people at 30 and 10 random games against people at level 15 who are you going to win more games against.


The way I look at it is like the college football or college basketball ranking system. There are always going to be some teams or players who are ranked too high and some that are ranked too low but if you look at the rankings as a whole its going to be pretty accurate. Now of course if your a level 20 there are going to be games were you lose to some who is ranked below you. But because Ole Miss beat Florida last year does that make them better or should be ranked higher. And just because your level 20 and blow out someone level 35 doesn't mean that if you played them again the same thing would happen. I know I have blown people out then played them again and got my a$$ handed to me.

And as far as the tourney cats that travel. They represent maybe 1% of the madden community. The madden tourney scene is pretty much dead. But they always crack me up when they say they just come online to to lab and try new sh*t. So why do they only run 2-3 plays when they goto these tourneys. And doesn't everyone try out new sh*t when they are online. Every time you play online you are on there to win I don't care what you are experimenting with. But they will always fall back on that excuse when they lose. Hell some of the times when I play I have been out the night before drinkin, druggin, and fuckin so thats my excuse when I lose.


Bottomline the level system is not by any means perfect but like the college football ranking system it gives you a good idea of where everyone falls.

most of the dudes in the top 100 online aol is under 10 they kill people at the game

Im a level 24 my aol is 14. I played a lot of lower levels when the game first came out just to get use to it. But once I got to around level 10 I tried to never go too far below my level and id play anyone above of course. my last 10 games ive probably avg aol of 25 or 26. Almost everyone was above my level i think there was one that was a lvl 18 but everyone else was at least a lvl 20.

i judge people for there record more than anything
i like playing people that have played atleast 100 games and won more than lost
thats all i look for when trying to get a game...how many games the person has played
