| Space saver or serious design flaw? Setting your xbox 360 up vertically seems like a great way to conserve space, though in actuality, it blocks the systems main source of ventilation, Which can cause the system to overheat, A.K.A RROD. A better way to set it up is on its side or, better yet, upside down vertically for maximum cooling, though this my look strange to some. Personally, I would lay it horazonal the way it's really design to be, and keep the system at a steady cooling level. | |

| all the consoles have had their share of problems. so we as gamers have to just bit our lips and go with it. even the nes/snes had trouble but we cant just blow on the discs or blow out the systems of today and they work.the syatems are just short of a system powerful enough to launch a missle....lol | |

| I can't except what MS has done with the 360, I mean 1/3 of your systems are failing thats not fair to the consumer that buys your system and I now that they extended the warranty but they just put a band-aid on the system and 2-3 months later its back RRODING.... the motherboard is a design flaw and thats why in 09 you'll see a completely different 360 system inside and out from MS... the 360 slim, with a motherboard designed by someone other than MS " Thank God ". | |

| i see all the flaws very clearly with this garbage system, microsoft is obviously intentionally doing it to make more money. the x clamps are total garbage and instead of having a crap piece of metal custom designed to screw over people after a year they could have used some very cheap bolts to screw in the heatsinks. The fan system is ridiculous there is no reason those fans should not be directly on top of the gpu/cpu heatsinks blowing directly on them rather than giving some half ass cooling to them. the huge chunk of plastic they use to transfer that heat is definitly as expensive or more expensive than a good latch device that would make the fans sit right on top of the heatsinks.
also the single screw that is directly under the power on buttons board is straight up there to hope you break that s*** and then are forced to just buy a whole new box.
saying these problems werent intentional is very wrong, and its obvious if you have any knowledge of how computers work and have ever glanced at the ridiculous use of the "X Clamps".

| I havent had any problems with my box in over a year and half. Keep it away from anything that gets hot and have a fan blowing on it if you can. | |

| i kept mine laying down too, but i also had it on for large amounts of time as it was my only one. for maybe a 1 month stretch i kept it the other way but i made sure to not play more than a couple hours before giving it a break then.
mine just RROD this week after maybe 2 years or so.

| it wouldn't be very hard everybody who looks at the inside of an xbox knows their cooling technique is bogus, and the clamps on the back cause bending rather than good support. move the two fans on top of the heatsinks, and replace the retarded clamps and its fixed. Why is it not fixed? because everyone at microsoft is a scum bag/money whore. | |
