Question

Hey guys, im new here. I am new to Madden last year, and I recently went online to play. Could I get some pointers on how I can even be competetitive online? I go online and just get mashed by 70 and 80 points. I get frustrated because people purposely run up the score against me, knowingly before the game that I am no good yet. Any help please?

If ur getting beat bad I would work on a run game to milk the clock and keep the games closer also I would play some unranked games to get use to it.

First of all, play some unranked games, play people of your skill, or as close to your skill as you can find...

and practice...

Yea start playing unrank.
There you should work and what you think your not doing so well at.
IF you need more practice you can go to practice and Lab some plays.

stay active here at madden-school... itll definately help out ur game.. i was like 20 games above .500 when i got here and im 45 above .500 now and ive only been here like 2 and a half months... stay active and ull step up ur game..

i will for sure! im pumped i found this place. noticed u like brady. im hoping he comes back next year. Im a colts fan, but also a football fan and Brady plays some real good football and its fun to watch! go brady. Maybe with Cassel, the Pats can trade for another Top notch reciever, or maybe even a replacement for Losing Asante Samuel to Philly.

Naw honestly it doesnt look like Brady will be ready to start the season so Cassel will be starting again next year to start the year and if he does well Brady may have lost his starting job! The way i see it is if Brady comes back 6-8 weeks into the season and we are 5-1 or 7-1 or whatever it may be and in first place that Cassel isnt gona come out and Brady will be trade bait... the Pats already plan on franchizing Cassel so i honestly think Brady has lost his job in NE.. it seems like the Montana and Young situation from years ago when Montana got hurt and Steve Young just kept winning so they couldnt take him out... Kinda sux but im just hopin Brady is good to go to start the season, just doesnt look like thats the case.

try some unranked games until you get the hang of it

people online are vicious....when they know you are a "noob" (new to the game). they will exploit you and take advantage of you. so...spend a lot of time in the "lab" (practice mode) to work on your game and to get extremely familiar with your playbooks. i would also say....play people of your skill level until you really get the hang of what you like to do in a game offensively and defensively.

what he said, you also have to remember everyone online is running a zone defense, so go to practice mode, set the def on a dime cover 3 or cover 2, and just try to pick it apart with different plays. Also don't abandon the run game to early, this has been my downfall to loseing games i was up by 14

dont be afraid to play higher levels. thats how i get good at everything. when i was a kid all my friends in the neighborhood were 2 or 3 years older than me, and much taller. so when i started playing kids my age, i absolutely dominated.

when i first started playing Madden online, I didnt care who i played until i started getting beat. then i went bum hunting, did alright. and then i found Madden School, and i got my ass whooped a lot. but since i was playing higher caliber player, my game started making leaps and bounds instead of steps and skips.

play the best guys you can find, if theyll play you. see what they do. see the weaknesses of yours that they exploit. look at your mistakes, and try to fix them in the future.

If you have a 360, i'll go a few rounds with ya. I cant help you with passing Defense because i rarely go for the long pass. But i can play good pass D, rushing D, and rushing offense.
