Stopping the TE streak

I faced dirty-mullet today and the only play he could run against me was I formation then hot routed his TE to a streak pattern and no matter what I did I could not stop it.

playing zones sometimes leaves the TE uncovered, no one is lned up across from him, if thats the case as it usually is it gives him a free release and then its just good timing.

-try to move a LB or DE over the TE to get a bump on the TE, it shold slow it down.

I had DE in front to bump but he always completed it

I think I broke it up once but I was in a C4 and the next play he ran the same thing but just waited a little longer for a completion

there is always man coverage, it slows streaks down, plus most people forgot how to beat man; with zone being the only effective D in most peoples minds.

I tried man but Dallas Clark was catching everything over my LB

try either manning him up with an LB or manually control a LB and watch him yourself. or....assign 2 guys to cover him if need be.

yeah, "in the past TEs were just big blockers, but now your on his left they throw it right, on their left they throw it right, the tight end is tough to cover."

ok I might try putting 2 guys on him if I face another guy that uses that play

just user cover him with a corner...it will work

try a drop zone out of the 3-4 it prteey effective aganist the streak route but their is no defense on the flats so i suggest using a de jus to watch it

i see people doing this all the time but i have never sent a tight end on a streak.

Like I said b4 thats all dirty-mullet could do against me and thats all he did. The only other pass he did was picked. Also he ran the FB dive but I usually stopped that.

Just manually control a FS or SS or play some zone by the area.

manually guard him or just go for the swat instead of the pick. nanos work as well so that the QB throws off his back foot.

i don't know any nano's out of the 3-4

Why would you use a cornerback to cover a TE doing a Streak across the middle ? That would leave the WR open. My suggestion is either try to manually be the MLB or Safety waiting for the TE to pass the LB and step in front and either swat or user pick it.

play a buzz zone or cover 4 and make your d backs zone to close middle

d-cash, i think he meant come out in the nickel, and check the TE as if he was a wide reciever in passing situations. Not switch the LB with who the CB is checking

If I know that it is coming I play as the safety and when he throws it I just jump in front of his TE and swat it or pick it.
