Nickel Normal - 9 Velcro

Ive began using this play a few months ago when I saw it and tried it out. It is a great play and is a great play if you want to get picks (especially with your DE). The play has two players rushing (both DT) and everyone else playing in a zone, even both DE. The only weakness is a run, especially a run up the middle. You can usually stop a run about 50% of the time tho. If you have a good defensive line, you can usually get some sacks with it too. But picks and near picks happen 90%-95% of the time. Also sets up killer hit stick shots if they do catch it over the middle.

SUGGESTED- Use the play on a passing down and against 2 WR or less. It is better to play on pass downs because it is not guarenteed to work 100% of the time against the run and against 2 WR or less because 3 or more WR can pick it apart easier. You can still use it against 3 WR but not as effective.

The 4 DB's play deep 1/4's (dark blue zone), the NB plays Curl to flat to left (light blue zone), both LB's and RE play hook zone (yellow zone), and LE (Redskins-J. Taylor or I move Panthers-J. Peppers to LE=can get picks pretty easily) plays Curl to flat to right (light blue zone).

I believe this play works a very high percentage of the time when used as suggested. If anyone tries this out, let me know how it works for ya.

Yea I use when I know my opp is going to pass.
It works good but sometimes it can be exposed.

audible to a run....how u think i beat him Coop haha....unless its 3rd and long and wit only one NB in the yellow zone u can expose the middle of the field wit everyone else dropping back to quarters....just have to be able to read that they are in it pre-snap...

well actually I use it any time when I think they'll pass, One of my favorite plays... I found it awhile back too...

yea same here...i like using it when I no they are gunna pass too...i love gettin picks with like peppers or taylor or one of my DE lol

the 9 velcro in the nickel 2-4-5 is WAY better than the nickel normal, but both are good plays.

playmakered yellow zones play deeper than the stock ones, it could leave the D more exposed to drags and quick slants.

Also, if you want a little better run stop press Y>Left

It does show blitz so your linebackers are a lot closer to the line...

it seems like you guys are getting very good sucess with this..im going to have to try it

i've used it a lot lately and it works pretty good.

One of my favorite pass down plays is Zone Max X (I think that's it) in the Dime formation. It's a Cover 2 but there's one guy in man coverage so I always switch the one guy in man to who has been his go to guy.

only call this play if its 3rd n 15 or more, i was labbing against it and u can easily get short passes off still since the 4 deep zones are out of the picture....but if some1 tries to throw 15yards or so its automatic pick

when i use this I put the safeteys in yellow zones.

dont believe in this kind of thing at all. pressure bust pipes all day. i wont even give the QB enough time to get a pass long enough off in the first place.

ya i dont feel comfortable if im not blitzing. id rather call even a dime strike 2 then this and just leave the safeties in deep blue zones instead of changin them to hooks

3rd and long = bring the heat. Only way I won't is if I know my opponent is looking for it and has had some success against it.

I use this play too... But sometime I put my F.S. in a Q.B. Spy and user him, Doing this helps a little with the run and the scrambling quarterback's. If the wait for a guy to get open and they normally run to the side go after him with the F.S. just don't give them to much time this play can be picked apart.

Sidelines are wide open for about a 30 yard gain on this D. That's why i don't use it. Just send your Running back on a flat route, wait until he turns up field, and boom.

yeah wheel routes kill this play, but its just something to throw in the mix not a play to call every down
