shutting down the screen and toss

what defenses shut down the screen pass to either side, and what plays shut down the toss. I use vikings btw

Man coverage shuts down screens. Especially with DE contain.

Contain can also help with tosses. But nothing can stop the toss better then user controlling an LB or safety or using a fire A gap nano to hit the QB before he pitches it. There are tons of these posted on the site

Use contains. They stop most things that come to the outside

i hate it when people post things like saying contain the DE, that doesnt work everytime or even effectively

i find that when you start sending heat consistently, you can **** them up nasty

I bring a minimum of 5 every play, i usually bring 6 depending on how you play. If your're not good at turbo blitzing off the edge, I advise you to bring heat regardless.

Screens out of shotty where the middle of the O-line doesnt even make an attempt to stop pressure, can be blown up if they have a slow quarterback. Also when your bringing heat vs HB SCREENS in shotty, THEN YOU PUT THE DE on the HB's side on a contain.

JUST RUSHING YOUR 2 DT's and PUTTING THE DE's in contain isn't gonna stop s***, let's be real. THen when the guy doesnt play a screen, he's gonna burn ur ass deep or work the field because 2 guys are rushing and he has all day to throw if the Williams "brothers" or casey hampton ISNT RUSHING YOU

Ellard is right contains dont always work with containing the toss but they can help i like to slide my line to the strong toss side contain the de on that side then user my FS make him commit to the outside were u can get a user or make him cut back for minimal gain hope i could help

no but contains distort the block of the tackle and allow your user saftey skill to make the backfield hit... nuff said

and yea, you almost always slide your line to the strength of theirs.. that shouldnt even need to be said
