| Reggie, a Madden-School user in ur chatbox was looking for a good run stopper in the 4-3 over formation. Does anyone use this formation and if so what plays do you call to stop the run? | |

| well reggie where ever you are i'd love to talk 4-3 with ya if thats your thing, ill give you some of my stuff out of my 4-3 base scheme that i run with my squad the eagles: 4-3 OVER SMOKE MID ZONE (setup 1) -freeze defense (triangle + right on the D-pad) -place MLB on the line of scrimmage right over the LG -re-blitz your 2nd string DT or the DT on the left of your screen -place your OLB on the right side of the screen right over your starting DT or the DT on the right of the screen -put your SS into a purple zone -user the FS to clean up the run *you should get a good push through the right A gap 4-3 OVER SMOKE MID ZONE (setup 2) -freeze defense (triangle + right on the D-pad) -shift line right (L1 + right on the D-pad) -re-blitz the DE on the left side of the screen -re-blitz the DT that is now right over the center -re-blitz your MLB and place him off the line of scrimage between the DE & DT you just re-blitzed -re-blitz your OLB on the right side of your screen and place him between your two DT's off the line of scrimage -put your SS into a purple zone -user FS to clean up the run *you should have a 3-4 look with the LG & C covered and your starting DT in between the RG & RT, you should get a pretty good push in the A gaps. 4-3 OVER ZONE BLITZ (setup 1) -freeze the defense (triangle + right on the D-pad) -crash line out (L1 + up on the right stick) -re-blitz both DT's -re-blitz MLB and place him between the DT's off the line of scrimmage -user FS to clean up run *you should get a nice push up the middle. (credit to 360 madden) 4-3 OVER ZONE BLITZ (setup 2) -freeze the D (triangle + right on the D-pad) -re-blitz 2nd string DT or DT on the left side of the screen -make sure your MLB is off the line of scrimmage over the LG -make sure your OLB on the left side of the screen is on the line of scrimmage outside the tackle or TE -do what you want with the right side DE -user FS so clean stuff up *this is a one sided approach to stopping the run so make sure the blitz is on the side you suspect run. | |

| all the time man before i came up with my 4-4 stuff i ran a strict base 4-3 scheme that was pretty nasty so now that i have developed this 4-4 fire its real nice cuz i still have all my 4-3 stuff to mix in. | |

| 4-3 OVER SMOKE MID ZONE (toss stopper)
-freeze the defense (triangle + right on the D-pad) -place MLB over right gaurd on the LOS -re-blitz your 2nd string DT or the DT on the left of your screen -re-blitz and place your OLB on the right of your screen between the two DT's on the LOS -put SS in a purple look to clean things up on the edges
*the QB should get sacked and if your guys do get blocked it will leave the edge clean for you to come up and make a play on, i only use this if my OPP. is constantly tossing to AP or CJ.

| 4-3 is a really good switch from the 44 during games and when you need it | |

| I strictly run the 4-4, goal line, and occasionally Quarter. I might run the 43, but that's only if I'm in poop | |

| i used to run the 4-4 and the goaline D earlier in the release of 10 but as of late ive been gettin back to my roots (4-3), so ive been running 4-3 then switching it up to the 4-4 if i need to, the gaoline is almost extinct in my defensive scheme, its been forever since i ran the goaline D, its a good defense though. | |

| i like the flexiblity knowing the GL defense gives me cuz i can throw my 4-4 fire at him, then switch it up to my 4-3 stuff then if i need to hit him with a totally different look in the goaline D, so basically for me its: -4-4 -4-3 -goaline defense i also mix in some quarters and nickle stuff but thats only if these three fail me. | |

-okay this is what i got reggie, i name the positions as they truly are so the LOLB will be on the right side of the screen the RE will be on the left side of the screen etc.... so here we go. SPY 3 BLITZ -man align (triangle + right on the D-pad) -put your LOLB on the outside hip of your LE and re-blitz him (X + down or R1 + right on the right stick) -re-blitz both of your DT's (X + down on the right stick) -place your ROLB on the outside hip of your RE to better hide the heat. -place your RE in a contain (X + down on the left stick) -place your MLB off the LOS between the DT's in the right A gap to get the opponent thinking your gonna isolate that gap and blitz there, it hides your heat better, this is optional though. -bring safties down to cover slots and help with the short passes (optional) -press coverage (optional) -user the MLB to take away the imediat short middle of the field. *your LE or LOLB should come off the edge hard, it depends on who the RT blocks if he picks up the LE the LOLB will come free, if he picks up the LOLB the LE should come free. STRONG SLANT 3 -man align (triangle + right on the D-pad) -place your ROLB on outside of the RE on the LOS and re-blitz him (X + down on the right stick or R1 + left on the right stick) -place your MLB behind the RE so that his left foot is showing (foot on the right of the screen) and his right foot (foot on the left of the screen) is hidden. -re-blitz both of your DT's (X + down on the right stick) -put your LE in a contain -place your LOLB off the LOS between the two DT's over the right A gap to better hide pressure and keep the threat of A gap heat there. -bring your safties down to help with coverage (optional) -user LOLB and cover the short to deep middle. *the heat should come through the left B gap. *NOTE* -thes are not the best blitzes the 4-3 has to offer, these blitzes IMO are high risk high reward but effective none the less, it may seem like there are alot of steps but i practiced them and i can knock these setups out easy now its all about practice man with a lil bit of practice you too can execute these blitzes effectively, also dont get greedy with these they are beatable and have holes so keep your OPP. off balance by throwing in some A gap stuff out of these looks and also mix in some coverage plays that just rush your front 4, hope it all works for you reggie, good luck friend!
