Merlin Olsen a member of the Fearsome Foursome, lost his battle with Cancer today. Sandwiched between Rosy Greer and Deacon Jones, Merlin made 14 straight Pro Bowl appearances, Including his rookie season, an unheard of feat for his position.
Merlin was successful at everything he did:
Fantastic football player
Excellent actor in "Little House on the Prairie" - he was Father Murphy
Teamed with Dick Enberg as one of the best announcing teams ever
And a successful pitch man for FTD
He was a great football player and a great man. One of my boyhood idols.
