4th and 3 playcall

Its 4th and 3, you are up by 4 and your opponent has the ball in the redzone. What defense are you calling? Are you bringing a nano? a max protect zone? Guarding the flats?

Personally i would probably come out in a goalline formation and make it look like a nano and drop pretty much everyone back into zones and play "fag" D.

What would you guys call in that situation with the game on the line?

im playin goaline 2 deep cover and containing both ends and usering my LB

It is interesting that baiting your opponent into passing the ball by showing a heavy blitz seems to be the defense of choice. Do you think you could try to tempt your opponent into running it by coming out in a dollar/quarter defense? It may be a good idea to try to find a defense that looks like you are going to play "fag" D and have it be a pretty good run stopper.

That may be impossible, but it is worth labbing.

If anything out of Dollar or Qtr could stop the run w/o giving up slants and blown coverage using man

I would most likely run a 3-4 nano of some kind or run a man blitz. If i was in this situation on offense i would probably run the ball, either off tackle, quick toss or mesh out of strong close.

Im sending him my man nano.. If hes in the gun im bringing whoever is guarding the running back into the flat on his side, press the coverage and user the safety and take away the first read

for me it definitely depends on a bunch of circumstances like team, tendencies, even what personnel he's coming out in...

but generally, i'd probably go with a 46 speed cover 2. that way i have the box stacked against the run, but the right personnel out there to stop the pass. the only that would get me is a quick pass to the sideline because i wouldn't have any purple zones. usually my defense can stop a pass in the flats for about 2 or 3 yards, so it is risky.

i like to user and OLB in those situations, so i can watch the RB's route and protect against the middle if i dont think my opponent is going to check down to the flat zone.

I would run a goaline nano and make sure the flats are covered.

Nickel 3-3-5 Cover 2 with show blitz.

I like to play the flats. I will not let someone kill me with the flats no way!! Well sometimes I get burnt lol.

I usually like to come out in some kind of cover 2 out of the 3-4. I have a thing for it lol.

best post. i will play cover 2 out of 3-4,4-3, or 46 then i will makes my cb play deep so that they would not bump the wr. then i would spy one of my lb. the guy would throw the ball to the flat.

Maybe man.nano. Or ply safe and ply cov 2.. Watch flats..
