Madden 11 Blocking Engagement Idea! Check it out.

- Offensive Lineman and Defensive Lineman Engagment should be more dynamic. I think you do this by making the joystick control while engaged more Interactive. EXAMPLE- If I rush the Qb and engage with an O-lineman I should be able to use the joystick to get around him by manuevering it in different ways. Also the engagement animations should be unique to who or what type of player is rushing or blitzing. Speed rushers use speed and acceleration Strong players use stength. This makes shedding blocks, stopping the run, and pass rushing much more fun for the User and gives the game a more authentic feel.

I agree about engaging the line and controling the lineman it also alters the cpu's movements similar to my video I did on Far Tight Twins- Flats.

CPU Manipulation is the name of the game its the only way you can get around the opponent user from disturbing your offense.

In the end the user can only control 1 man at a time, so the other ten men I would worry about beating them before I take on the user.

Follow this concept and it will help your game on all aspects.

Hey thanks for your comment. Yea me either, I mean once you get engaged theres only really two moves for you and either works or it doesn't. It would be fun to control A Big DT too, tryin to stop the run or plug up holes

I like the fact that improving the line engagement will enforce more players to use D linemen and the best players that play DE or DT will have a better chance to shine.

yea they definetly need to do something with the line engagment, I mean once you get engaged its like you get stuck or something.

but really though do you think this is all possible??? do you think they can really put it all in the game?

If you read my whole list you will see I also make suggestions on what you can take out to free space or to spend time on something else more important.

They probably can't, do it all in such a short amount of time but these are simply ideas, and im not just simply putting the ones i think they can do this year. I do stand strong behind certain ideas though.

-Blocking Engagement
-Create a Playbook "maybe just offline for now" Still want it online, but im being realistic now upon your request
-Playbook improvements "maybe not to the extent i described"
-Passing needs to be fixed I wish they could fix it this year Maybe not. I also have a new idea about that. NFL blitz passing system with tweaks

I mean I hope they do a lot it definetly needs some improvement. AM i wrong?

kinda lost on the blocking engagement thing, maybe you could enlighten me on that, really really disagree with the online creat a playbook, i just see bad things commin from that, but offline would be real fun i guess if thats the kind of thing your into, maybe in creat a book mode you just select certain formations that go in the book, but even then i see abuse written all over it. i hope they do something about this off tackle crap too, i kinda like your idea of making the A.I. respond to plays that are run over and over again, this would cut down on cheesing, and IMO nanoing cuz you couldnt just nano all game cuz the line would pick it up, just like in a real game, now if thats possible it would be great but i realize its a stretch, i think EA might be a lil hesitant to put too much in the game cuz people take advantage of fun features and ruin it for all, i mean its a good idea but a few people always ruin for the rest of us example being the WC, i really really like the idea of expanding or making the playbooks more unique to the team wrather than having all this similar crap, im actually fine with the passing i mean im a lil lost on how we would achieve the total passing control thing i mean gimme an example of buttons we would press and things of that nature then maybe ill understand better, but overall i like the passing on the game i mean you gotta make smart throws thats why i like it cuz it forces the user to be good at passing. lol

I think I explained it as good as I could above. I mean when you get engaged in a blocker I want it to be More interactive not just two buttons, swim and power moves. My idea suggests that you make the joystick "left" more relevant when engaged. Like if i get engaged and i move left on the joystick then both o lineman and d lineman adjust accordingly. Then I move the Joystick violently in the other direction, both adjust. I want to be able to move while im engaged, I always get stuck in a block in the current madden once i get engaged I can't get out unless i move backwards. Of course Player Ratings would determine what the struggle would look like and how effective the blocks are

Hopefully the great O-linemen would have a chance to shine as well though, having a tackle like Michael Roos in my case should count for more than it seems to right now.

i agree
