Problem w/ fair catch

I cannot do a fair catch with ps3. I hit the triangle button, but nothing. I have tried pressing and holding, hitting it at different times after the punt, but still cannot get my guy to fair catch the ball. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

well first make sure u are actually controlling the punt returner lol. and also u mite b pressing it too late i understand that u sed u hav pressed it at various times but if u press it too late it doesn't do it so u haf to call it wen it's about half way there

U have to call it very early

Yep early call it within a second if it seems the gunners are loose.
