| i think and im not sure on this but i think it makes the recievers route go past the first down marker, and what do you mean extend plays? | |

| Smart route is like a hot route; Y or , then the receiver's icon, then press down on Right Stick. As B-R-B said, not all routes can be smart routed. Sometimes the smart route makes the route longer, sometimes it gets shorter, sometimes the angle of the route or cut changes | |
