Edwards, dressed in sweat pants, was walking with a limp, and it's not clear when he'll be able to resume practicing or if he'll play in Buffalo's preseason game at Indianapolis Sunday. Coach Dick Jauron is expected to update Edwards' status following Wednesday's practice, the team's final session at training camp in suburban Rochester.
Edwards was hurt about 45 minutes into practice Tuesday night when he collided with running back Marshawn Lynch's knee after handing off the ball. Edwards went down and lay on the field for about five minutes as trainers examined his right leg.
Edwards favored his right leg when he was helped up, and then walked on his own to the team's locker room.
Lynch continued practicing, but began experiencing soreness in his knee shortly after the session ended and was taken to the trainer's room as a precaution.
Lynch did take part in practice Wednesday.
Backup J.P. Losman practiced with the first team offense and will start Sunday if Edwards is unable to play.
