Falcons D

I can score some points with their o obviously with the weapons they have on that side of the ball but defensively they are awful!

Anyone have any suggestions on how to stop teams with this d?

They're like Miami's no name defense of the 1970's except they were good.

Should I sub some players in different spots?

yes that's what i do..go for it!!!

1) Change to the 46 playbook. With the falcons you have to pressure the QB cause your cb's can hold for a while but will break if you give your opponent time to make their reads calmly.

Base defense: Cover 3 press or Cover 1 press depending if you like zone or man.
Basic Zone blitz: 3 deep blitz, ouside blitz (46 bear)
Basic Man blitz: Strong/Weak Blitz, Sam Blitz (46 bear)

For heavy zone defense:
Nickel 3-3-5 cover 3, cover 3 flat and dollar cover 3 and cover 4.

2) Lineups (depends on situation, and opponent style):

a) Run/Short pass oriented

Hill.......Decoud.......Coleman......Houston
...Nicholas.......Lofton........Peterson......
Abraham....Jerry....Babineux.....Sidbury...

b) Heavy Pass oriented

Hill.......Decoud.......Moore......Houston
...Wire.......Lofton........Peterson......
Abraham....Jerry....Babineux.....Sidbury..

When you want to blitz put anderson in for jerry and coleman for peterson in lineup (b)

I know a lot more stuff for the falcons (set up specific blitz, heavy zone D, etc.) so just ask if you need something specific.
