wipe old W-L record?

whats up MS, new member here hoping to get some sim players on my friends list before tuesday so I dont have to sift through the lobbies- hit me up anytime for a str8 gm: GamerTag: AbePhroman or just post your GT here.

Now on to the question. Will EA wipe the old W-L records or will it be like last year and keep the stats from 08?

Yea man i will hit you up i dont what you mean by sim if just punting on 4th down or what but i play straight no cheese.

thanks guys, I was hoping that was the case, as I had some discos from a bad connection at my old place. Yeah sim= no cheese & punting etc.
Has the wiping of the records been confirmed by EA ? Whats your source pats?

Yea but occcasionally i go for it just becasue i think i can get it.lol

I'm not gunna look for it now but there is another thread that was made yesterday about this and a lot of people were confirming it.

I saw it in an interveiw because the guy saaid 09 is a totally new glitch free version.

It is true. That's the end for all of the wr double passers, animation catchers, onside kickers, etc. Thank goodness.

Animation catch, I mean the catches when the wr jumps 10 feet in the air and it goes to slow motion. That is gonna be outta here. I like the strafe catch, there will still be some ability to user catch.

You have to be on the money when you throw it to your WR. No more sitting in the pocket for 2 days then a WR catching the ball over everybody.

That's right. I hated that animation so much. Just drop back 3 steps and hit up and the wr button that you are throwing it to. SO easy. My friend's 9yr old son was able to do it.

There is always going to be glitches in every game if they arent any this year i will be very surprised.

but of coarse the first patch on the first day will fix up some.

Yeah, there will always be glitches, its just that I hope the glitches that are there can't affect the outcome of the game as much as the onsides glitch or animation catch glitch.

The onside kick glitch was pretty easy to stop but the animation was almost unstoppable if the guy knew how to do it.

Yeah, onside glitch can be stopped, but it caught me off gaurd and I had to call time out alot just to get the onside return team out there. Then, if I always put the onside return team out there automatically, it hurt my blocking if he did a regular kickoff.

As for the animation catch, I would blast the WR and he'd land on his neck after doing a helicopter, but he would still catch the ball.

"animation catch" you mean rocket catch and that juiced up spectacular catch.... as we are forced to rely on animation catches every year and since their is no strafing on offense it will just be harder to trigger those animation catches this year, there still in the game. Strafing was removed from offense to eliminate players from using these as go to moves and EA's solution to toning them down. The down side to this is that now their is no way to guide your receiver... what I mean by this is, now instead of being able to strafe to turn around to meet the ball, you have to circle around with your WR with the analog stick like in madden 94-98. Back then we were using D-pads but its just as frustrating with the analog stick. The majority of the time the ball will be off the receivers back or a dropped pass by the receiver since he was out of position... thous your better off letting the cpu catch 4 u, maybe this is what EA wanted to do to level the playing Field online, sorta to speak. Not having strafe on offense would be not having it on defense... which is like playing old school madden again.

Thats just a few reasons like there was also the pause glitch im really hoping the leaderboards will reset and that they will also resset them as soon as the game comes out because of all the people who get it early.

Good point. Some people have it already and can get their game tight soonere than us. But hey, just like in real life, practice makes perfect.

Or theyre are just playing realy bad people to break away from everyone else at the top spot and there not worried about getting theyre real game together untill the game comes out, but when the real game comes out they will already be few hundred points ahead, ya know that is stupid to me.

wow-thanks for all the replies guys. Its really good to know that the records will be reset.
Also, the audible for onside kick return is set to defalt LB I believe, and then just use the play reset aud to go back to regular KO formation if someone tries to cheez you.

No strafe = EA bandaid... I sure you can still rocket without manual if you have a "hands" or tall rec. ex: moss,plax,etc.

And yes, I just got the game from my local mom/pop video game shop and will be headed for the "video crack pipe" as soon as I get off work.I have devoted the weekend to the Maddenholliday.
