| Last night played a game against a kid who ran the Wildcat 95% of the game. Here's the setup. I was NO Saints w/ Jets PB (Now realizing saints D is poor but still should be able to stop a wildcat) He was the Titans. I assume Miami PB because the wildcat had the WR snap and the Power run I think he may had a glitch up his sleeve. The kid was 20-55 but had won 10 straight. He went from Johnson to White to Ringer To Britt and regardless who was he put in he was breaking off 50yd-70yd runs and breaking tackles from CB LB n Safteys. I usually would get at least 3 clean hits on him. I don't know for sure it was a glitch (just becuz u cant stop something doesn't mean its a glitch) but the 10 strait wins and the 90% wildcat ...with Javon Ringer breaking more takles than Brandon Jacobs or Turner made me wonder. I went thru the 3-4, the 4-6, Nickle n audible to a 3-4, Used House Blitz, Spys, and even a punt return zone. Only time I could get any success was if I put 2 LBs on slot wr and 2 CBs on RB (or whichever way I could move my fingers to set it up fast enuff to man 4 Dmen on him) I wouldn't stop it 4 times in a row because he was a 4 down baller. OUTCOME: I was down 21 going into 4th, I cut it to 14, got an onside kick + cut to 7 and that was the most I could sustain.... final was 63-56 So..... after reading the various posts on the wildcat ... I ask .. How do we stop this Wildcat with the Jets D PB????? Tee off with your suggestions......... | |

| I use the 4-3 - Over - QB Contain. It's best for me to user control the LB. Should at least cut down on the gain yards. Like the announcer says on the game. Any run play is cable of going the distance if you have the right blocking.
Hope this helps | |

| Cool, I seen a QB contain outta the 3-4 or the 4-6 so I may give that a try next time i see this since the JEts don't have a 4-3 scheme.
Any run play sure can go the distance and apparently for this kid his center guard and tackle could block my whole team!! lol I think there was something fishy going on but I put the responsibility on myself for 2 reasons, I couldn't stop it and I couldn't get the onside kick a second time. I'll give it to him, he found something that worked, but still cheesy lol

| 3-4 Over Zone Sting Blitz I think it is. Shift line in, reblitz the DT, put the MLB in the A gap. Don't put him all the way on the line. No reblitzing is neccessary. Then you can (A) position the LBs on the sides to contain and slide them out, or (B) keep them blitzing and put your two corners on contain and leave them where they are. User the safety on the weak side (side with no TE, but in the wildcat I'm talking about the side with less blockers) and wait for the run.
Don't EVER commit everyone, because if this guy has a pass play in the wildcat your burned for a TD. He can snap the ball and start tapping a button, and even if pressure gets there in time it's a lob to a wide open receiver, wounded duck or not.

| I use 3-4 Strong Defense End Contain, I don't really have that much of an issue against the wildcat. | |
