| Hello, I'm new to this forum, I decided to search the net to try and find out how to 'D'. I've searched the forum, but have not any posts that focus on starting from scratch. Basically, my offense is pretty good, I hardly get stopped, however, defense is just silly. When me and my mates play on 5 min quarters, the score gets up to like 60 all cause none of us know how to D. Im australian, so I hope thats enough of an excuse, but I need some tips. I don't even know what the different color zones mean for F's sake (purple, yellow blue etc.) Basically, what I want to know is, what specific play should be used when.. For example... Passes 1-10 yards Passes 10-20 Yards Passes 20-30 Yards Covering the deep pass is easy, and I can also shut down the run pretty well. However, I am sick of people making easy yards on me. Usually I pick a cover 3 for most things, but I dont even know what the difference is between any of the cover 3's, they all look the same to me... Sorry if this is confusing, but any help or direction is greatly appreciated | |

| well you could start by making more than 1 post... ill tell you what the zones mean.
purple means the defenders will slide up and out about 8-12 yards and guard the sidelines
dark blue means the assigned player will guard the deep halfs of the field
light blue means the assigned player will guard the flats near the sidelines
yellow means the assigned player will guard about 5 yards up and 3-5 yards left & right in his area
orange arrow means that player is blitzing, the lineman will be pass rushing | |

| u also have the orange circle.. u use this when the other team has a fast QB that can scramble such as Vince Young or Tavaris Jackson.. this means that that specific player spies the QB and wherever the QB goes, he goes.. basically stops any scrambling by any QB | |
