Update 2.40

This update for the PS3 will include access to the xmb menu (main menu) while in-game. You will be able to play music, send messages, etc. In this update, ps3 will also have it's own version of XBox 360's version of achievments which will be called trophies. This update should be availible to download towards the end of July (but that is not 100% know). All in all, this will give the 360 players a run for their money...The only difference now between 360 and ps3 is that 360 players actually have to pay for their online use. Playstation 3...the future of next-gen gameing!!!

hey everbody is starting to catch on that the ps3 is quickly out doing xbox. PLAY BEYOND BABY. IT WAS ALSO SUPPOSED TO BE OUT THIS MONTH.

Great post Fudgy! I don\'t think they have given a time table on the release of 2.40 and since their is 3 more updates B4 2.40 it still might be awhile, I\'d love 4 it to be here by the end of July though, They haven\'t released any specs on the Ps3 version of the XMB yet so lets keep our fingers crossed about music rip, since the ps3 XMB may defer from the 360\'s XMB, here is the post on 2.40 \"I have\" and again Fudgy \"great Post\"


Firmware (v2.36) coming soon, (v2.40) to include trophies, in-game XMB

A new PLAYSTATION 3 firmware update (v2.36) will be launching soon, improving system stability when playing select PlayStation format software titles. We’re also happy to officially report that the 2.40 system software update for PS3 will include “XMB” access in-game. The update will also include “trophies,” an exciting new feature that we’ll be providing more details on soon, as well as some other new enhancements. We’ve talked about some of this on the blog previously and know that many of you can’t wait to get your hands on these features. You can expect us to share all of the official details shortly.

I love that saying "PLAYING B3YOND" and the ps3 in my humble opinion, well be the best system by far in this year and in 09 well start to clam the market again, sony has to much money and can cut the ps3 to reach all ranges of PPL and well recoup their money with the long life cycle of the system.

The wii is a kids system but it's lack of graphic power is already showing and when sony lower the ps3 and makes it affordable to all ranges of PPL "I think this well happen in 09" it well over take the wii as the top system, it may take awhile 4 the numbers to even out, since the wii has a great head start " then again maybe not" since nintendo is well know for abandoning a console "remember" the N64 and gamecube, in 09 or 2010 the wii may be added to that list, once the everybody starts "playing b3yond" nintendo wants everybody to think that the system is staying sold out, but this is not the case! they are not mass producing the system only a certain number of systems every 2 month and then evaluates the system "MAKES YOU WONDER" when it well or wii be added to that list cause once they drop a system "no more games", "unlike sony's Ps2" the only last gen system still having games being made for it. I'm not a sony fanboy, I'm a gamer but you have to say like it is and thats what i'm doing.

A purported screenshot of the upcoming PS3 Trophy system surfaced on the internet on Monday, looking somewhat suspicious and legitimate at the same time.


Could this be the PS3 trophy screen?

The screen (shown) was obtained by PS3 Fanboy, who say they received it via email from their reader tip line. A second tipster, who claims to be a PS3 developer, affirmed the image.
Says PS3 Fanboy: "Things that make this image seem legit include a lack of blur, not to mention that this is clearly photographed from a monitor. We've checked and that Clank avatar is a real PS3 avatar. Not exactly conclusive evidence, but enough to keep us speculating, for now."
Another piece of evidence that may confirm the authenticity of the screen is timing. Last week, Sony announced that it would soon launch PS3 Trophies (an Xbox Live Achievement-like system) with system update 2.40.
Currently, the PS3 is on update version 2.36.

Jul. 2 = Update

can't wait until they add some of the current games to the list, so we can see the trophies in action.

i hered home comes out around when madden comes out
