Traditionally
the cover athlete for Madden has been revealed thesame weekend as the
NFL Draft. The general idea was to kick-off thepromotion of Madden
alongside the NFL Draft with the cover announcementbeing a major part
of that. Even if not the same weekend it has usuallybeen in the same
general time frame as fans of the sport beingconcentrating on the
upcoming season.However according to Sports Business Journal (via First Cuts)that
may not be the case this year. EA Sports is apparentlyreevaluating
their marketing plans for the game and pushing back thecover
announcement for Madden 2010 could be the result. Despite that Iwould
still expect various promotional activities related to Madden 10to
occur throughout the draft.One thing this does almost certainly
eliminate is the idea ofplayers bidding for the cover with the proceeds
going to charity. Afterthe first discussions of that the topic has
never resurfaced and thisnews seems to solidify that the player is
being selected in the samemanner as has been done in the past.

if that's the official article they released. do you think they might have hinted us that it'll be a qb, because of the cover EA gave us?

My home dog peyton denied being the cover of 2008 so I doubt he would want 2010. He already makes millions of dollars in other endorsements and sponsorships such as VISA and Gatorade.

eli manning... he still is on the rise... pplz hated him b4 the 07 playoffs.... now he will be known as the hail manning.... but u still have adrian peterson, andre johnson, james harrison<< def player of the yr and he has the record for longest int-TD in superbowl...

the sillouetee thingy is not of the person thats gunna be on the cover.

no the only player to not get hurt while they where on the cover, was ray lewis on the cover of 2005

no vick and alexander, i thought v.young dogded it but he's messed up now

I would deny the cover if I was any player. That curse has alwasy been around
