New revamped player ratings for madden 10!

they are severely changing the range of the player ratings in madden 10. here is the link

this is bad news, does EA just want us to use the best team from now on?

this isnt good at all.. this makes average players worse and the better players more dominant.. the only way this could work is if they make it like NBA video games were everyone is lower and having around 25 players rated 90 + instead of like 60 or whatever they have now..

I guess dallas and pats will be the power house cheese teams again :[

i think this is better. it will be more like the real nfl. ya now moss and peterson will dominate but now u only need to focus on them more. and if they do use moss or a dominate WR then you use the raiders and asomuagh.

that is a bright point, since all of the raiders wr's are in the 70's does that mean that they will be rated 60ish? if so than no one will be able to catch

If this turns out the way they plan for it to, I think the new rating system could be pretty awesome...I really liked the example they used with Earnest Graham's 55 yd run to the house...I'm really looking forward to it...

thats gunna be hot as hell now. This won't mean that the cowboys and the pats will be more elite, but less elite! Now, using a team like the Cowboys will actually make you have to be more dynamic of one thing than another. same thing with the Patriots, with maroney being out for most of the season, hell drop and he'll be easier to catch if he breaks one. This'll make speed backs more of the thing this year, and power backs will still be in effect, but not like in 08. Same thing goes for the WR's. instead of having James hardy burn ppl, :Lee Evans is gunna burn ppl. hopefully, with the new atings, it'll be easier for ppl like Ray Lewis to react to the run alot faster than he does since he always rushes in, then backs up just in case. most likely the ratings mean that some teams will be elite, but it wont be teams you think of. It'll be teams like the eagles who have balanced players, and teams like the Texans for their speed and height on offense, and their speed on defense. as well as the cowboys and the patriots, but they will be more 1 dimensional because we all know that barber and Felix are gunna drop. every1 says that its gunna be hard to use a low rated team because of the rating drops, but it wont be. it'll be much easier. With low rated teams, they get all of the WR's the ball equally most of the time, but with high rated teams they get one or 2 players the ball. imagine how easy it'll be to open the playbook up and use the Chiefs or the Seahawks? Not to mention the rating boosts and drops that EA will make throughout the year.

exactly. there wont be any so called ELITE teams next year. it will be the balanced teams that can hurt you cuz most teams will be either passed based or run based. but now that the ratings will be better you can just guard against the run with the vikings and the pass vs the patriots.

this will have a great effect on how players play there game

I want to know how they will alter the other ratings as well. What kind of ranges. Speed alone isn't going to decide everything. Everyone knows Asomuhga is the best corner in the game but isn't fast. How are they going to rate his other areas so he isn't getting burnt by Hester every play? I don't want it to turn into a game where you can motion Chris Johnson out of the backfield and he can run past every defender on the field.

Sounds good.. I cant wait to see how this one turns up.. =) I like how they are already giving us hints of whats to come in the next years madden.

It's probably the opposite. Berrian will likely be less effective because the game next year will likely be less speed oriented so average corners WILL be able to cover him because he himself is an average receiver.

My biggest worry though is that good players will be too unstoppable, I'm a bit skeptical so I hope they get this right.

ya but then u can put two people on guys like moss and u wont have to worry as much about the other players cause it will b harder for them 2 get open

This should be good i guess because then the corner backs wont turn around when they dont even notice the ball comeing

idk if you guys noticed but they do this every other year in madden
one year speed matters alot the next year its awrness
