| this is for all you ppl that think the cowboys are gonna get ray lewis.....dont listen to the newspaper people and get your hopes up Free agency hasn’t even started yet, and already, local columnists and bloggers at the Dallas Morning News and New York Post are making their pitches for potential free-agent LB Ray Lewis. And really, who wouldn’t want Lewis? He would immediately bring stability to the Cowboys and Jets. But not so fast. Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti told the Baltimore Sun that he hopes to lock Lewis into a long-term deal. “I’ve been hopeful forever that we’re going to work [out] a deal,” Bisciotti said. “Last year, I said I don’t think that other people are going to value Ray Lewis higher than we do. He’s showing at 33 that he’s capable of playing like a 28-year-old. I’ve got my wife on budget already to try to save some money so we can sign him.”

| i saw "Sugga's" interview with Jamie Dukes yesterday. it was very interesting! of course, there is the business side of football and that is what is coming into play with Ray's contract. however, i really beleive that the Ravens will sign Ray and that he will retire as a Raven.... AS HE SHOULD!!!no matter what happens...Ray is and ALWAYS WILL BE my boy....but....if, for some unforseen reason that my "Dirty Black-Birds" let Ray Lewis go...I WILL BE SO PISSED!!! and...if...he happens to go to Dallas or the Jets....again... I WILL BE SO PISSED!!! Ray will not look right in a uniform other than that of the "Dirty Black-Birds" in my eyes. Ray Lewis is the heart and soul of .... THE BALTIMORE RAVENS!!PLEASE STAY RAY!!!! PLEASE STAY RAY!!!! - Militant X 1 | |

| i hope he doesnt go to the cowboys and join that circus. i feel as though that would be a bad move for his career. I cant imagine seeing him retiring anywhere but a raven. Hopefully he will stay, he is the heart of that defense. | |

HA! Anyways, I respect the hell out of Ray Lewis, and would love to see him with a star on his uniform, however I don't know if we really can't work out a deal with him. Besides in ready to see Kevin Burnett full time, but if we dont get Ray Lewis we will have to find another LB somewhere, or have Barbie Carptenter as our 3rd LB :

| man....i can't even beleive that the Ravens are even entertaining the notion of letting Ray Lewis leave Baltimore....especially....after all that he has done for that city, team, organization and f ellow players. many of these franchises have no loyalty! we shouldn't even be having this discussion.
even Terrell Suggs said that he would take a pay-cut in order to keep everyone together. wow! that alone....shows people the importance of Ray Lewis at the helm of your defense. Ray Lewis is THE HEART AND SOUL of the Baltimore Ravens....PERIOD!!! he is the main reason why they have their identity of being my "Dirty Black-Birds!" i hope that they make signing Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs and Bart Scott their #1 priorities and cut some scrubs.

| ray lewis had made that defense be feared by every team in the nfl. no running back wants to look across the line and see ray lewis standing there waiting for him. it would be a huge mistake to let him go. | |

| well the ravens arent to blame for the whole lewis thing he wants a big fat contract at 33 hell they offered him 8 mill a year and he is rich as a B**** right now..........he is being greedy as hell this could have been a great week in the life of Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis. He could have had one more big payday and a legacy in Baltimore that would have put him in the same class with John Unitas, Brooks Robinson, Frank Robinson and Cal Ripken Jr.
But instead of celebrating a new contract and enhancing his iconic status, Lewis was embarrassed on the first day of free agency because none of the other 31 teams in the NFL offered him a contract.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones didn't call. Neither did former Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, the New York Jets' coach, who courted the Ravens' "other linebacker," Bart Scott.
Lewis' world came to a halt yesterday amid rumors he was furious about the way he was treated during negotiations and would retire before playing for the Ravens again.

Lewis' world came to a halt yesterday amid rumors he was furious about the way he was treated during negotiations and would retire before playing for the Ravens again. Ray is being greedy? C'mon bruh! Ray IS the face of the Ravens! you know this! Ray is pissed because... TO HIM....he should of NEVER hit the free-agency market. I AGREE!! after all that he has done for and meant to the team and the city? it's the principle! This is why these cats ask for all of this money. why? because today.....there is NO LOYALTY from the ogranizations to the players after they have poured out their hearts and souls in a place. just ask: Joe Montana & Jerry Rice = traded from the 49ers Emmit Smith = traded from the Cowboys Brian Dawkins = traded from the Eagles Marvin Harrison = released by the Colts and the list goes on and on. so....i don't blame Ray for wanting his money and being PISSED at the Baltimore Ravens management for not "honoring" him...as the cornerstone of that franchise. but...i really really really hope he comes back and finishes his career as a Raven. to me.... RAY LEWIS IS THE KING OF THE "DIRTY BLACK-BIRDS."

| i could understand him not wanting to hit free agency but they plan to have him retire as a raven its much loyalty they didnt let him walk...BUT 8 million a year is good for an lb at 33 and he made hella money from 1996-2009 so he can take that 8 mill a year he wants big haynesworth contracts and s*** at 33 | |
