So I'm playing the Madden Franchise and I've finished 2 seasons already, but what I haven't been able to figure out is, how do you release players who contracts are up. I don't want to resign some of my guys, but Madden seems to only let me simulate the resigning phase, so I'm unable to drop the players. Then it's resigning them for me and if I drop them, it lowers my cap for the next year.

its been awhile but i think this is how it goes.

1 either you need to go to franchise options and turn resign players to user control

2 most likely problem is when you see the list of offseason tasks, you have to go into resign players. resign whoever you want, then click continue, start, whatever... simulate from this screen. if you back out of the resign players screen, and go to the tasks screen and simulate, then the computer will simulate the resigning. so make sure you go into resign players, then continue. dont simulate from the offseason tasks screen. i hope you understand all that i suck at explaining stuff.

I never bother facing the CPU unless im Labbin with myself in practice :]

You have to switch the CPU-options to manual first. When you get to the Re-signing-option you can sign the players you want to keep. When you're done, press the start button and all players with 0 yrs will be released.
