the WRAP AROUND?

is this a new strategy that i havent decided ta use yet?...seems like that is the new trend now on 09 where ppl jus drop back all there ppl in coverage and jus have a 3 man rush and use there DE ta wrap around the WHOLE offensive line...u step up and your blockers stop blockin and stuff then u line shift and your play might go ta the other side and here comes the other DE...its hard ta stop even if u do put your hb over there to block..so is these the new trend of defense?

I use that stratagy when i cant stop someones pass. I gota use as many people in coverage as possible sometimes and it works for the most part. Most of the time my zone blitz scheme works well enough so i dont have to use it though.

hmm never heard of this. MAkes sense tho how the line would jus give up and not even block em.

wow i think i do that somewhat but i didnt know it was a trend but i use a four man rush but a quick throw whips the sht out of it im not sure if we are talking about the same thing tho just guessing and if you dont shift your line the right way it doesnt work lol

yeah Real, i think hes talking about what u try to do. staying the pocket usually helps, but sometimes with a fast DE the tackles and guards just dont do their job. for the most part ull be safe with a 5 yard drop and pass. dont try to hold on to it for too long, thats for sure.

i have utilized this tactic as well. i normally get Suggs (packaged in as a DE) to come of the edges and his speed against the tackles and guards is insane! there's nothing they can do to stop him....lol! this creates serious pressure on the qb.

I use this when I know the other play has to pass. Cover 4 from Quarters, Push your line towards the right and crash them right, then manually be the DE on the left and put him off the line 3-5 yards and just run around the left tackle.

maybe i should use this as well...is there a way to counter this...ive tried sliding the protection and leavin a back in as well it kind slows them down but not really or should learn ta work around it

I guess ur best bet is to sit in the pocket then wait for the de to go outside then sprint to the side he came from.

you could...but people that do this quite a bit will also have a qb spy mixed in....so be careful of that.

Dont think they spy will engage unless u get close to the L.O.S. I mean u let the de take his outside route then u step up and sprint to the side he came from. Should buy u a little more time.

I wish I would've known last night when my secondary was being torn up.

This is my favorite type of play against the pass. I'll run the Dollar-Cover 3. I'll put my DE's on a QB contain and my DT on a QB spy. Lots of sacks on from the ends. They thing to do is to hold fast in the pocket.

you are right! i meant to say QB contain instead of QB Spy....lol!

i had a dude try to do that to me but i just kept scrambling with my QB and i was picking up first downs like it was nothing
