| .) How to Blitz To Blitz you simply overload the OL. To do this you send more people to a gap than they have to defend. To do this you must understand something, the idea of a 1-gap vs. 2-gap defense. In a 1-gap defense each DL is responsible for 1 gap where as in a 2-gap system a DL is responsible for 2 gaps. For instance in a 3-4 the NT must force a double team with a C and a G. The problem is that there is suction blocking in madden. This means double teams aren’t possible. So, 2-gap systems are at a distinct disadvantage. To overcome this it is best to blitz from the outside, or to pinch the line to blitz the inside (in other words make a 2-gap system a 1-gap system). There also are random blitzing angles meaning you don’t have control over exactly where your blitzer goes. So, every blitz has some random factor, but all of these should be 75% or so consistent. Lastly, the idea behind the “any play” blitzes is that you use this setup for every down with these formations so you don’t tip your hand. Now I will give my blitzes for each formation I use. 4-3 Normal 4-3 OLB Fire (Flipped) Bump (triangle down) Flip (square R2) Crash Line In (L1 R3 Down) Pinch LBS (R1 Down) Move the ROLB to the RDT’s left hip 4-3 Cover 1 Bump (triangle down) Blitz Both OLBs (R1 R3 Left R1 R3 Right) LOLB LE inner hip MLB on the DT ROLB on the RE 4-3 Normal Any Play Pinch LBS (R1 Down) Crash line right (L1 R3 Right) Blitz ROLB (R1 R3 Right) Move the ROLB to 3 yards off the RDT’s hip 4-3 Play Slide line right (L1 Right) Slide LBS left (R1 Left) Blitz ROLB (R1 R3 Right) Move the ROLB to 3 yards off the RDT’s left hip 4-3 Thunder Smoke or Z Bracket Stick Flip (Square R2) Slide Line Right (L1 Right) Slide LBs left (R1 Left) Move the ROLB to 3 yards off the RDT’s left hip Any 4-3 (Loops LE) Crash Line Left (L1 R3 Left) Slide Line Left (L1 Left) Slide LBs right (R1 Right) Man-shift (triangle tight) Bump (triangle down) 4-6 Normal 4-6 Normal Any Play Crash Line Left (L1 R3 Left) Pinch LBs (R1 Down) Blitz LBs (R1 R3 Down) 4-6 Normal Any Play Flipped ( huge line loop) Spread Line (L1 Up) Crash Line Out (L1 R3 Up) 4-6 Normal Cover 3 ROLB Between DTs Scoot LOLB back Crash Line Out (L1 R3 UP) 4-6 Normal Engage 8 ROLB and LOLB in flats 4-6 Bear 4-6 Bear Wall Cover 4 Slide line Left (L1 left) Pinch Line (L1 Down) Pinch LBs (R1 down) or Blitz ROLB (R1 R3 Right) Blitz LBs (R1 R3 Down) ROLB Behind RDE 4-6 Bear___ Stunt Crash Line Out (L1 R3 up) Pinch LBs (R1 Down) Blitz LBs (R1 R3 Down) RE Flats

Nice post but, you are misinformed on certain things. Even though you are right about 95% correct. Yes, it is true that 2 GAP defenders must try to occupy 2 GAPS in order to free the linebackers to make plays. And also it is true that 1 GAP defenders are responsible for a GAP. But where you fail to explain to us is on how and why? It usually depends on where the Defensive lineman lines up on the line of scrimmage, wether they are lined up/shading on an Offensive lineman's shoulder (Inside or Outside) or Head up. These are called techniques. Usually, these techniques, along with the rest of the front (43 NORMAL.OVER etc..) dictate how the defensive front will attack and defend the offensive formation. Another thing, 2 GAP Defensive Linemen are much bigger and more powerful than 1 GAP Defensive Linemen. 2 GAP Linemen are required to stand up an offensive lineman or 2 without, penetration. They act like walls. What they actually do is stand up the offensive lineman and then try to force a lineman, into either gap next to him, depending on the flow of the play. The double team effect that they receive is because of their size and strength. Now 1 GAP defenders are much smaller and quicker than 2 GAP defenders. A 1 GAP style defende is an attack style defennse. Every defensive lineman shoots thru a GAP, attacking it and taking on anything that comes thru that GAP. Any GAPS left open are then are responsibilities of the Backers and/or safeties. And YES, we can apply it Madden in this years game: Simulating 2 GAP: Re blitz a lineman. Or look for play diagrams where the D-Lineman is rushing straight down. What the D-lineman is actually doing is, Standing up the O-Lineman, and breaking contact either left or right (2 GAPS), depending on where the ball is. Ratings for these players: STR, Power Move Rating, Bull Rush Weapon. Simulating 1 GAP: Crash the line Or look for play diagrams where D- lineman is rushing either at an Angle or towards a O-Lineman's Shoulder. What they are actually doing is attempting to attack a GAP By attacking a lineman's shoulder. Ratings for these players: ACC, SPD, AGL, Finnesse move rating and Finnesse move weapon. - Gator | |

| nice add Gator... Would like to also add that, I find it difficult to employ true gap play in madden, but you can definitely make a go of it. Not only does the DL need to appropriate skill sets to employ 1 or 2 gap techniques but (in the case of 1 gap) LB's awareness must above average. If not look out. You'll find running backs running through gaps where Backer are supposed to be. | |

| My question is why is this being ran every time a new madden comes out it plan to see that the guys dosnt know how to do this stuff on his own and that makes him a cheater. Stop wasting everone time and move on to something else and stop rerun this garbage to us who play on the PS2.That space could have been used for something like a good nano or good blitz man this is weak im out alc | |
