People watch the future more than the present...

on online franch everybody is busy making usually pretty silly trades since no one wants to give up anyone of value and sometimes you will see people tradeing good players for players with future prospects and yet how often does a franchise go on long enough for those moves to be of any use? I don't know why people just do what they can to get the best starters possible regardless of age and then if the franch does keep going on you just shore up a bit on free agency and drafting also as much as I hate to admit it I don't think there is any point of starting your inexperienced young players it doesn't improve their stats if they play good from my understanding the game just tends to improve them based on potential and possibly wins if I'm wrong about anything just say so

I'm sort of in the same boat.
I have rarely played in a franchise that goes over 1 or 2 years (but that is because i usually lose interest). But it is like you said, you usually can't get the best players because no one wants to give them up.

yea i jus choose great players in the present.. not based on 5 years later

I agree with you in general, but I am playing in a franch which is well into its second year and is going strong with a good core group of members and it should go on until madden 11 comes out, so there i think it is wise to prepare a little for the future
