PostSubject: name your wildcat committee   2010-04-14, 12:57

okay so lately ive been having some success with the eagles wildcat formation wich i like to call the THUNDERBIRD, anyhow ive been having some great success on the goaline and in short yardage situations, not to mention its a great change of pace formation, for me i like having westbrook in the left slot, vick outwide left, maclin in the right slot, and curtis out wide right, buckley or weaver in the backfield, and shady takin snaps, also ill let desean take some snaps but mostly mccoy cuz i use desean as my punt return man and my #1 WR so keepin him fresh is key, any how just wondering if any of you run a wildcat scheme and who ya like running it.

i only use WC with one team

Far right i put Nate Davis
On the left i put Frank Gore. Robinson and Crabtree are my direct snap catchers

Davis is in the slot
Walker is at TE, and i put Joe Staley in a FB behind the OL. He can catch for a lineman and i have so much blocking with Davis and Staley yet they can catch as well, so it makes for a nice style. Only thing is other than Wild Cat, The Dolphins playbook is pretty lackluster

these are a couple clips of my "THUNDER BIRD" formation, vicks at QB, shady's next to him, donovan is wide left, brian is in the left slot, desean in the right slot, & ingram out wide right, this kid couldnt adjust to my T-bird scheme, when he tried FG block i passed it when he tried coveage D i ran it. The wildcat is a nice change of pace or wrinkle to throw in to any offensive scheme.

i will rarely pass out of the wildcat, never really works for me, especially as i roll with the panthers

may work next year with aramnti edwards there

right now i just love running the option plays with stewart and williams and watching the edge then making my decision

is almost unstoppable if done well

what wildcat formation do you use PB? im rollin with phillies right now i love the ablity to pass cuz even if you dont they still have to respect it or get burned, i really like KC's wildcat but all three plays are running plays so its very easy for someone to just come out in FG block and mess things up, with my T-bird scheme i can keep them on thier toes with the possiblity of a pass, i also mix in the option im not great at it, im getting better though its very effective if you make the right reads.

I used to use the carolina book, had three nice runs, though i only used the blast RT

now i have been trying it out in the San Fran book
has two nice formations, one with all direct snaps and runs
the other is two RBs lined up next to each other
and there is a hand off, a counter and an option play in that formation

yeah those are nice the bills wildcat is real nice too as you can motion players for better blocking, MIA's wildcat was bomb when 10 dropped but fell off after they patched it due to people taking advantage of it, but i recently played a guy who ran MIA's wildcat pretty well, he had the power run with the option man, the counter, and the pass play he was rollin with oakland so he could throw occasionally but not as well as i could with vick, the thing i like about PHI's wildcat is that it looks like you could easily stop any run as there are no TE's everyone is spread out, but with a few minor adjustments you can turn it into a very nice power run up the gut, then just mix in the option, and let them know you have the ablity to pass and you should be good from there, nice call on the niners and panthers wildcat though.

I don't but i really should have a name for it. I forgot to say that i like to put mercedes lewis at wide receiver and greg jones at Te, for better blocking.

jones is an animal! i find it a fun way to spice up my madden experience by comming up with stuff and giving it a unique name that has to do with my squad the eagles, maybe the "WILD JAG"? or the "THUNDER CAT"? either way its a fun way to put a spin on your setups and packages.

oh gotcha!!! i thought you meant at like the RB spot in the WC, phillies wildcat only allows you to package your starting QB into the mix so unless you start vick you cant manually sub him in but with a few adjustments and subs i can get vick taking snaps without having to start him, its real nice man, yo is MIA's wildcat still legit?

the thing i like about PHI's book is that it has alot of gun as well and i can have my wildcat approach but still have the ability to spread things out and use my lil speed demons.

well to answer the question i like.... the EAGLES, so whatever the eagles have i will utilize they should have some size in 11 with baskett comming back and them drafting riley cooper, they also got a wes welker type guy in chad hall im curious to see how or if he fits in with the eagles, since the eagles got shorter faster guys i just simply utilze them in a way that gets them in open space, HB screens, WR screens, short quick hitting routes that let my guys put in some work after the catch then you always got the long bombs to desean and J-mac.
