Flat Defense

I got killed the other night by a user who just passed to Matt Forte whenever he got backed up and he abused the flats, nothing I did seem to work.. I brought he which left man to man but for some reason someone faster than Forte couldn't keep up with him on Forte's route running so I got beat on that. Then tried Cov 2 zone and he picked that apart. Nothing I did seem to work. Any tips or ideas I should take into consideration next time I run into this situation?

You should try checking him yourself and limit his yardage to the lest possible. Use a good linebacker who can tackle and zone him.

patch #2 should help with the flat coverages. I feel sorry for people that use it because its gonna get shut down.

Alright i know a good flat defense it is a play from quarter but really can be applied to any play. the play db contain from quarters three deep locks up the flats mainly because there is to db's playing conains between the sideline and the qb. these contains act as if they were flats but they actually lock up the flats 100 percent of the time check it out in practice mode you throw to the flats when they are there its a pick.

Run a cover 3 with you usering the LB who goes to whatever flats forte goes too.

Manually have you ends do QB Contain and they should jump up and block the pass if not intercept it. And you have to bluff you coverages like show blitz then drop back into coverage.

i think the new patch...is out ..and i'm still killing the flat's....if you try to stop that ..i'll kill you with my TE...anything you do i'll counter...

put your corners closer to sidelines in cover 2.
